What better way to begin Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2013 than with the coveted 9th Annual Style Awards.  Three global leaders in the fashion industry, Penske Media Corporation and Style Media and IMG Fashion made the prestigious event a reality through their powerful partnership.  The bright lights were beaming and the cameras were flashing as celebrities, sports champions and exquisite models walked the Red Carpet at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, September 5th.

Champagne cocktails and hors d’oeuvres awaited the fashionable elite as they socialized prior to the awards ceremony.

One of the main goals of this event was to recognize top costume designers, stylists, models, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and rising fashion ‘celebrities’ making their mark on the fashion world. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, President and CEO of SWW Creative, lends her extensive fashion background and production expertise to make this one of the most successful events in fashion history.

We knew that we would be seeing only the most ethereal of fashions on the Red Carpet.  Sparkling dresses and gowns dazzled the media from deep plums and winter whites to raging reds and bright-eyed blues.  The black and grey suit and tuxedo was a favorite for the men but the suit also played a pivotal role on some of the women as well.  The shoes were the most talked about accessory with jewels to enhance the evening on some.  Jewelry took an interesting twist with Grecian gold snakes worn as arm bands and large lavish necklaces to flatter the gowns.

We saw the likes of Amy Adams, Iman, Rachel Roy, June Ambrose, Joan Smalls, Jeff Gordon, Prabal Gurung, Nicole Richie, Simon Spurr, Ed Westwick, Hal Rubenstein, Henrik Lundqvis, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Jenn Rogien, Elaine Irwin, Rebecca Minkoff, Adrienne Bailon, Amar Stoudemire with Alexis Welch and many more.

As we are heading into a new fall television season, many were eager to find out what the final season and last episode holds for viewers and fans of the CW’s popular ‘Gossip Girl’ but Ed Westwick was not ready to divulge any secrets.  Katharine McPhee is looking forward to the 2nd season of her new hit series, ‘Smash’, set in New York City.  Celebrities socialized for a while and after the awards attended an Official Style Awards after-party at Stone Rose Lounge.  Then everyone decided to call it an evening and gear up for a very busy week of new Spring 2013 fashions and trends to hit the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week from September 6th to the 13th.

Be sure to stay tuned to the Style Network on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and see it all for yourself as the awards are broadcast for worldwide viewers.
