Celebrities were out in full force on Monday evening, October 24th, to attend ‘An Evening with Ralph Lauren’ hosted by the Queen of Talk Show Hosts, Oprah Winfrey. The event took place at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in New York City.

The highly respected designer takes philanthropy very seriously and this intimate evening was to benefit The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and Lincoln Center. Lauren has always been extremely successful at raising money to support the worthy cause and this was no exception.

Some of Lauren’s staunchest supporters included Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, Uma Thurman, Barbara Walters, Jerry Seinfeld, Lily Aldridge, Veronica Webb, Anna Wintour, Naomi Watts and the list continues.

The on-stage conversation was a rare look into the very personal life of a style icon, trendsetter and leader in the fashion world. Before the interview began, the audience was treated to a video chronicling Lauren’s life and legacy. This included candid family shots giving a glimpse into the many sides of Lauren, most importantly, the family man. The video footage would not be complete without shots of The Ralph Lauren designs over the years.

The perfect ending was the parade of models in glitter, lace, silk, satin and feathers all featured in the redux of Lauren’s Spring 2012 show.

Not only were celebrities present but fellow designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, Dennis Basso, Tory Burch and Lisa Perry, took this opportunity to show their appreciation for Lauren’s work and dedication throughout the years.

David Lauren, eldest son of Ralph Lauren and his wife, Lauren Bush Lauren, were present and socialized with the crowd as well as sharing qualities that make Ralph Lauren the great man he is. Of course, Ralph is a sentimentalist and isn’t afraid to admit it. He breaks the rules but wouldn’t have it any differently. He looked back on his company and his practices and is satisfied with all his successes and how he achieved them.

Immediately following the on-stage interview was a cocktail reception and black-tie gala dinner. Fashion was definitely at the forefront mixed with social sophistication in gowns and tuxedos to fit the occasion.

Thanks go out to all those that came out and donated to The Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, to Oprah for being a wonderful sport and to the man of the evening, Ralph Lauren, who made it all possible.
