Not only is Beyoncé wowing with her songs, but her extreme costumes stand out in the fashion world for their exquisite originality and the perfect way in which she wears them.
The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour began in Serbia. Beyoncé hits the venues of Paris, the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Norway and then back home to cities across the United States. Tour dates are selling out in record time.
What has excited fans the most is her glamorous ensemble. There is loads of spandex, sequins, glitter and the outfit that lit up the internet on fashion websites across the globe, her gold sequined body suit with sparkly gold nipples and complete with beaded fringe at the bottom. The inspiration behind the design was a Tamara de Lempicka painting.
White may be a color of innocence but this crystal and pearl embellished white costume with fringed shoulder pads if far from innocent although it is to be greatly applauded.
When you catch sight of the dark blue bodysuit with plunging neckline shooting visions of light in every direction with its glittering sequins that almost seem set to music, you become fixated on the form that is surely the star of the century.
How about that black-sequined leotard with zippered pockets? It will leave you in awe.
Beyoncé takes fashion to a whole new level in her flowing coral colored gown with large gold tassel to accessorize in a most elegant manner. There is passion in her song and definitely in the way in which she wears this outfit.
Thigh-high black shiny boots and a tiny black leather jacket change the mood but stay in style through and through.
We go from gold to silver in a blink of an eye as Beyoncé becomes outfitted in peach shorts with stripes of black and blue and suede lace-up boots complete with knee tassels. It has that disco feel with a contemporary edge.
Accessories are worth a look as well. A sparkling black hat with cat ears is an item that was seen on the Fall 2011 Runway of Givenchy.
So who are the designers behind these lavish costumes? Julien Macdonald, a Welsh fashion designer, was named “British Fashion Designer of the Year” in 2001 and his designs have kept him in the spotlight over the years. He was appointed as chief designer at Givenchy in 2001. He is a regular at London Fashion Week.
Dsquared2 is a design team that has won a handful of fashion awards. Canadian born twin brothers, Dean and Dan Catenacci, have rocked the fashion world with some of their unusual yet brilliant outfits that shine on the runway. Celebrities enjoy making a statement in their fashions. Claim to fame is a star on the Canada Walk of Fame in Toronto and winning titles such as “Best Designers of the Year” by GQ Germany in 2008.
Pucci is an Italian design house symbolizing luxury at its finest. The fashions continue to draw attention from the most elite audiences and the fashion house has a special gift for putting women on a pedestal through the talent of design and artistic creation. This is a brand that has carried familiarity for over a decade.
With these top designers signed on to provide the costumes for the tour, it is no wonder that success follows Beyoncé. There may also be some Givenchy in the mix as well.
If you are a Beyoncé fan, this show is well worth it. This is the year of ‘Beyoncé’. She began 2013 with her big Superbowl half-time performance that fans are still raving about and will most certainly end the year on a high note as she brims with talent and a finesse that others can only dream about.
