Bolt Races At The 2015 Adidas Grand Prix

On your mark, get set, GO!!!!! It is the thrill of the race, the excitement of the speed and the adrenaline of the competition that draws fans to the Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island, New York every year to witness Olympic-type talent compete for the gold and the distinguished title that is awarded based on merit.

June 13, 2015, marked a memorable day as the held a full day of unprecedented competition events as sports enthusiasts looked on, cheering their favorites to the finish line. The day began at 10:00 a.m. and continued all throughout the day. The is part of the IAAF Diamond League and is an annual event that is televised LIVE on NBC TV from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.. With such major corporate sponsors as Adidas and Omega, the Grand Prix has grown to be a one-of-a-kind  sports event.  Some of the world’s greatest athletes show off their strength, drive, persistence and winning spirit as their goal is to take the #1 spot in their category and claim victory as thousands watch. Not only is the competition for men and women who participate in the High Jump, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Pole Vault and other meets over the course of the day, but there are also the youth races, nimble competitors that, quite possibly, might be the next Olympic Gold Medalist.

Athletes for the come from France, Ethiopia, Kenya, Jamaica, Germany, Poland, the United States and even Cuba as nations put their top sports stars on the field with a large amount of moral support to gain the glory and the fame that comes with recognition and reward. This year, fans came out in crowds to see the legendary Usain Bolt. Bolt had broken his first world record at the  with stardom waiting in the wings for him again as he became a gold medalist in the Olympics with the confidence, courage and skills to surpass the competition. Even though this year’s event was not that spectacular for him, his fans cheered him on without hesitation and there are more Grand Prix events to take the lead at in the future.

The USA came out on top with Ben True becoming the champion and one to beat at the 5K, winning the Diamond League 5000-meter race since the 14-meet circuit began in 2010. An American also took top standings in the women’s meets. Francena McCorory won the 400 meet circuit in record-breaking time, 49.86.
