The Academy Film Series will be celebrating the 2011 Governor’s Awards Honorees and their achievements including the great actor, James Earl Jones and motion picture makeup pioneer, Dick Smith. Actress and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey, has earned the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

Attendees will be able to see screenings of “The Exorcist”, “The Color Purple” and “The Great White Hope”.

On November 9th, Dick Smith will be showcased in “The Exorcist” (1973), the film where he put his creative makeup designs to work. He will be appearing in person. There were many impressionable scenes that stuck with audiences and Smith’s work will be highlighted.

As usual, the Academy will certainly make each evening very entertaining and a memorable tribute to three outstanding individuals.
