THE MANY FACES OF BEBE
By: Hope Wilkos, Writer/Blogger Photographer: George Whylie Videographer: Maxine NolanLook into the mirror and you will see the many faces of Bebe. Throw on a tailored suit and head for the office. Hit the dance floor and sparkle in a tight-fitting figure-grabbing mini. Walk down the aisle on your special day in a head-turning gown. Get on the treadmill at the gym while you look mighty fine in workout attire meant to sport your figure.
Bebe has become a true lifestyle brand. Women flock to their nearest location to get that all-encompassing look. The summer is heating up as Bebe brings us their trademark bodycon dress in vivid colors with square or low-cut necklines. An interesting take on the trendy maxi with a corseted top and a graduated flare-length bottom gets the party started. The look is all about bold geometric and tropical prints in easy, breezy outfits of short sets and long silky pantsuits.
In addition, Bebe hits the other end of the spectrum with professional pencil skirts, fitted jackets and dresses that can be accessorized with sterling silver jewelry or go comfortable with the ballet flat. The little black puff sleeve dress or the macrame lace shift dress in a spirited coral color shows off a weekend tan.
Whether it is tennis, running or Pilates, Bebe Sport makes it effortless to be fashionable and fabulous with the right fit.
These days, it is almost a given that a Bebe logo tee can be seen on a visit to the grocery store or at the theater on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Women are proud of their label and wear it well with an air of confidence and intrigue.
Recently this past March, Bebe launched their first Bridal Collection in an effort to attract a new, more mature and sophisticated customer. Designed by “Project Runway All Stars'” Rami Kashou, it mixes romantic with feminine with dramatic with timeless elegance. The complete collection includes dresses, gowns, shoes, jewelry and veils at relatively reasonable prices.
Twice a year, bebe BLACK hits the runway in New York City as part of Fashion Week. The show takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion located in the heart of Chelsea and known as the Style 360 show. Celebrities from Victoria’s Secret models to Snookie of reality television fame can always be spotted in the front row. This past February the Fall 2012 Collection presented black as the color of choice accented with grey, red and white. The ho-hum suit was revived with a hint of lace as was evening wear and dresses. Leather was a favorite fabric. Capes were a more feminine approach to outerwear. Sparkling low-cut gowns with bell sleeves took us back to the 40’s in an effort to accentuate the elegance of Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth. Leather gloves and small patent purses accessorized the simple black dress made for the perfect-figured woman. Intertwined in the collection was the all too familiar animal print coat which was a stunning finish to the simple black cigarette pant and tailored white shirt. This collection had a broad range of classy looks from the ultra classic to the sleek modern look. The designer behind the creations was Charles Benton who brings out the true beauty with every outfit that appears on the runway under the lights.
The popularity of Bebe is growing in leaps and bounds. Not long ago, the CW hit ‘90210’ and Bebe teamed up to launch a collaborative collection that was heavily promoted. It was multi-functional and was the answer to getting the brand name out there to a much wider audience.
The action continues with a Bebe app for your mobile phone, an official stylist blog on their site and The Lounge considered one of your ultimate style destinations. Monthly events take place in stores with price reductions and percentages off your wardrobe wish list outfits, DJ’s and refreshments.
Bebe has also launched a ‘Wishes & Dreams Summer Contest’ with a grand prize of a trip to Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Rico. It could be your dream vacation of a lifetime courtesy of Bebe.
It is evident that it is time to jump on the Bebe Bandwagon to beef up your style. See what the talk is all about.
