Gigi Hadid – A Fashion Phenomenon

She is young, she is gorgeous, she is the all-American girl and the hottest name to hit the fashion runway these days. Her name is Gigi Hadid.
Gigi is turning some heads these days. She is following in the footsteps of her mom, Yolanda Foster, who is also a fashion model. Gigi began making a name for herself when she was only 2 years old as the face of Baby GUESS. Over the last few years, she has become a fashion phenomenon, taking the modeling industry by storm. She became even more recognized when she was named as one of the twelve rookies in the 2014 Annual Swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated.

Hadid is highly desired by some of the top designers of the decade to show off their creations. She has already been seen on the cover of Galore Magazine and within the pages of the sophisticated magazines of Vogue and Elle. Perhaps you might recognize this American beauty from her time as the face of GUESS once again in 2012. New York City is now her home and the one place that holds huge opportunity and much promise for this soon to be – supermodel.
It was no surprise that when she turned 20 on April 23rd, a major milestone in a girl’s life, that she decided a birthday party was in order and invited some of her closest friends. It all took place on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the hot new Chinese restaurant, Red Stixs located on the Upper East Side of the city.

The restaurant gave her plenty of privacy as she headed downstairs to the wine cellar with 25 of her friends. Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Cody Simpson, seemed to be absent from the celebration. That didn’t seem to bother Gigi because she was surrounded by plenty of BFF’s including Kendall Jenner who tweeted a very happy picture of the two enjoying themselves that evening.

Two of Gigi’s other friends that were seen partying with the group were Victoria’s Secret supermodels, Martha Hunt and Devon Windsor. Another gal pal of the group, Selena Gomez, was not able to attend. Kendall Jenner decided to play DJ for the evening, bringing the girls to their feet. A favorite amongst the party girls was “Bitch Better Have My Money” by Rihanna and the girls decided to chime in.
Chef Skinny Mei treated the birthday girl like royalty, bringing her dishes to savor over the course of the evening. Dishes included chicken satays, green prawns and her absolute favorite, lettuce wraps. All the guests seemed to save room for the sweetest part of the evening, the birthday cake. The cake was geared towards this health-conscious bunch as the white icing covering the cake was laden with berries and fruit as the perfect accessory to the dessert.

At such a young age, Gigi Hadid has accomplished an impressive set of goals. She received the title of ‘Model Of The Year’ at the 2015 First Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, has jumpstarted her acting career by appearing in a short film in 2012 called Virgin Eyes, as well as continuing to have a recurring role on the reality show, ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ Hadid has appeared in music videos, including one for Cody Simpson. She has kept busy jetting across the continent on a regular basis to model in Giles S/S 15 RTW at London Fashion Week, and during Paris Fashion Week, Gigi walked for Jean Paul Gaultier SS15 in his the last RTW Show, Sonia Rykiel SS15 and Chanel SS15.

With a natural and refreshing look about her, Maybelline made the perfect strategic choice to have Gigi Hadid as the face of their latest campaign in January of this year. Back in July of 2014, she and model/actor, Patrick Schwarzenegger, starred in fashion designer Tom Ford’s Eyewear autumn/winter campaign. Opening Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September of 2014, Gigi played co-host for the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media awards in New York City. Desigual chose Gigi to walk the runway in their runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York in February of 2014 and then she also walked the runway for the unique designer with individualistic style, Jeremy Scott.

The world awaits this vivacious young adult. As long as she stays focused and works diligently to achieve her dreams, her fate will remain in her hands and she can steer her future. It is also important for her to remember that beauty is not just on the outside, but comes from within too. That is the key to staying in the limelight and rising to stardom before she even sees the age of 30 in the distance.
