Google Invites You To ‘WEAR CULTURE’

The history of fashion dates back further than anyone can imagine. Part of the enigma is held by every outfit, every accessory, every designer collection, because it is always accompanied by some unique story.
With all this couture craze playing a key role in our society today, it is no wonder that the multinational technology company, Google, has taken on the monumental challenge of building an impressive and extensive archive dating back almost 3,000 years in the intriguing world of fashion. It sets to solidify the boundaries and the union between fashion, art and culture. Just type into the Google search engine “We Wear Culture” or #WeWearCulture and what pops up will be awe-inspiring.
There in nothing left out, nothing forgotten. This is a huge endeavor brought to the public by the well-known Google who has partnered with the largest panel of experts in fashion which includes more than 180 museums such as the Museum Mumbai and the ever-famous MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art), schools such as New York Fashion Institute of Technology and fashion institutes around the world such as the Kyoto Costume Institute. Over 175 partners took part in contributing to the information found on the site.
A treasure chest of some of history’s finest fashions can be examined just by a touch of the mouse. A virtual reality of beauty and interaction await those who are the inquisitive type and desire to take a deeper look into what fashion was, what it has become and where it is going in the future.
It isn’t just about looking back at photos of gorgeous fashion pieces. Google worked with curators to create more than 450 different exhibits ranging from a multitude of cultural topics.
The site will continue to entertain and enlighten you with some of the most astonishing imagery, traversing from Japanese streetwear to adorned and intricate gowns from the court of Versailles. Check out the interactive videos and take a close look at the ultra-high resolution photography to pinpoint your favorites and pick out the trend that fits your persona.
