There is also more to Halloween than meets the eye. Edgar Allen Poe was the King of Horror. He died on October 7, 1849 just 5 years after publishing the thriller, “The Raven”. The movie was once again reborn this year with John Cusack playing the leading role as Edgar Allen Poe himself.
This thriller has given more significance to the raven. It is not just a black bird. It is a thought-provoking inspiration for Halloween, films and most notably for winery names.
Now style expert and Creative Ambassador for Barney’s, Simon Doonan, teams up with Ravenswood winery to create a series of ‘How To Tips’ for Halloween entertaining at its finest and eeriest.
Here are the Do’s….
DO enjoy It! DO impersonate! DO let it RIP! DO look stylish! DO decorate!
And what are the Don’ts?
DON’T not carve pumpkins. DON’T forget to flaunt yourself. DON’T play dorky music. DON’T scare your kids too much with horror on this dark holiday. DON’T get scared…..of the kitchen. So as you can see, the tips range from decor to menu with a bit of quick wit thrown in to the mix. Collaborating on these hair-raising tips with Doonan is Ravenswood winemaker, Joel Peterson, whose Vitner’s Blend Zinfandel is a perfect component for a Poefully dark and sinful Halloween party. What a team! Doonan has the sinister humor and Peterson has the dramatic flair to create lavish table settings.
Now you are off to a supernatural start to a night of horror and intrigue! May you have a ‘BOO-tiful’ time!
