Miami Beach International Fashion Week 2012 has once again set South Florida on fire with all the hot new fashions from emerging designers hailing from not only the USA but South American countries of Ecuador, Colombia, Venzuela and Bolivia.  Talented representation also came from designers as far away as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, France, Montenegro, India, Italy and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

All the international designers are extremely grateful, humbled and thrilled to be able to show off their hard work under the bright lights of the runway and have the overwhelming acceptance and support of fans from this special week.

From March 21st through March 24th, Miami Beach Convention Center was transformed into a style showcase and the designs on the runway ranged from new concepts in jeans adorned with sequins and sparkles to evening wear of lace and seductive femininity to dresses of tantalizing textures to sizzling swimwear.

Opening night began with a press conference hosted by a lady of class and distinction and a talented artist, Dionne Warwick, along with Grammy-Award winning music producer, Damon Elliott.  Mrs. Warwick was candid and inspirational and shared a bit of her life with the audience.

Models brought clothing to life on the catwalk with embellishment, creative colors, uncanny silhouettes, luxurious sophistication with a mix of fun and spirited pizazz.  Pumps are more popular than ever in brilliant colors, patterns and even with sequins, accompanying the majority of the outfits.

Bolivian winner of the 2012 Mision Moda unanimously selected by a select jury of top designers in the country, Rosario Vargas Tibubay, added a dramatic flair to her show with authentic Diablada dancers.

International jewelry and accessory designers filled the exhibition hall between shows with fine Italian leather handbags and hand-painted and glistening purses, handcrafted jewelry of gems, metal beads and precious stones, original yet trendy footwear, a closer look at some of the pieces from the designer collections, organic hair products from official sponsor, KeraGreen and a culinary style cafe’ sponsored by Whole Foods Market and much more to keep event goers entertained.

However, it isn’t just about fashion.  Humanitarian awards were presented throughout the week for outstanding individuals within the local community and countries rallied for valuable causes such as an end to oil drilling in Ecuador.

The final evening presents the Miami Moda & Music Awards with celebrity hosts as well as a fashion show with a special collection of ‘Red Carpet’ gowns worn by some of Hollywood’s and Latin America’s biggest stars.

As Miami Beach International Fashion Week winds down this evening, an official VIP After Party will take place at Mondrian South Beach at 1100 West Avenue, Miami Beach as a superb culmination of a week of fantastic fashion.

More articles to come in the next week on the designs seen from specific designers at Miami Beach International Fashion Week.
