Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has been infused with a shot of vitality to begin the new season of style. Falling temperatures, snow flurries and all the woes of winter will not keep the fashion fans down. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 New York promises to be more than marvelous as it permeates throughout the city of New York spreading even further beyond the steps of Lincoln Center.
The chic chatter has been endless for the past couple of months and a newness surrounds the event.  Most recently on January 9, 2014, the preliminary lineup of designers who are gearing up to debut their Fall/Winter 2014 Collections was announced and the schedule is now posted on the  website: http://newyork.mbfashionweek.com.
IMG Fashion has revamped the presentation of its influential week giving a more personalized approach to fashion and satisfying the changing demands of the designers, the stars of the week. Â The environments will be more versatile drawing more emerging designers awaiting their opportunity to wow the stylish crowds. Â The Hub at Hudson is the venue that will make it all happen for them.
Another brand new venue creating a rebirth to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is The Pavilion. Â Here is what a couple of the designers had to say about this additional venue.
âAs each season marks new growth for us, for Fall 2014 we decided to look for a premium show space that would allow us to create an environment tailored to our aesthetic. The introduction of The Pavilion at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week offers us the chance to show in a venue that feels unique to Creatures of the The Wind, and also makes use of the various benefits of showing on-site at Lincoln Center. Itâs a new idea for us, and we are excited to see the results,â Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters, designers, Creatures of The Wind.
âThis is my fifth year showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and throughout the years the team at IMG Fashion has always been there to help me produce a show that is impactful and makes sense for my overall business,â says Mara Hoffman. âI am looking forward to seeing how the new venue changes and event upgrades will improve the guest experience, show production and ultimately help my brand connect with the consumer.â
In addition, the newly launched MBFW District, will give designers the opportunity to extend the energy of fashion week across all of New York City and present their collections at off-site venues while remaining under the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week umbrella. The MBFW District allows for optimized city-wide scheduling, shuttles between Lincoln Center and MBFW District Associate shows and participation in the MBFW Digital District. The unprecedented MBFW Digital District will be the virtual home of fashion week, with live-streamed runway shows of designers showing at Lincoln Center and throughout New York. Live shows will be complimented by a schedule of digital fashion content premieres of international designers who will use this powerful platform to debut their collections to the world. In September 2013, over 3.7 million viewers tuned into the live-streamed shows on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week portal, the MBFW District was specifically designed to build off of this runway momentum and further connect designers showing in New York or designers creating collections in their own backyards, the ability to reach a worldwide fashion loving audience.
“I am very happy that MBFW and IMG Fashion have taken the right steps to meet the industry’s needs,â says Diane von Furstenberg. âNew York City is the epicenter of fashion and the redesigned MBFW District will show off all of the talent and culture that is seen throughout the entire city. 2014 is a very special year for my brand; the 40th Anniversary of the wrap-dress, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate. I am looking forward to hosting my show at a space that is unique to this seasonâs vision and celebration, and excited to continue being a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.â
