Joy Cioci is the down-to-earth designer that takes us into a world of strength and confidence with a bit of seductive and alluring charm.

Joy unveiled her latest and extremely flattering Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection in The Box at Lincoln Center on Sunday, February 12th at Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Week in New York City.

Her start in the industry began early in life back in Florida where she was a creative artist enrolled in an art program in school with a flair for fashion in her heart.  You might call Cioci a self-starter.  With tools at her fingertips such as television (Fashion Television) and magazines (Vogue, Glamour, etc), her determination to climb to the top of her game was a reality sooner than she would have imagined.  With an aunt and a friend that could bring her ideas to life with their sewing capabilities, Joy designed three full collections in high school to exemplify the talents she was gifted with.

She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and was quickly recognized and taken in to apprentice at some of the most luxurious and prestigious fashion houses in the world; Gucci, Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci.  That prepared her for the next step which was her entrance into the contemporary world to assist in launching the brands, Chelsea Flower and WiNK.   From there, as one might imagine, came the launch of her very own line which reaches out to the client that knows exactly what they want in clothing, a successful and strong woman while still vulnerable and sexy.  Mixing and styling is their top priority.

Joy especially looks up to Tom Ford who is such a brilliant and gifted designer.  He relates so closely to what a woman desires and delivers allure and sophistication that stands out.

In this latest Joy Cioci Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection and the third collection to be shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, Joy is inspired by a feminine and influential strength.  Seductive survival shines through and the thought of a woman manipulating to get what she wants is a driving factor.  The snake, the owl and the leopard are all creatures of prowess in this themed collection.  Joy worked with and manipulated fabrics such as leather to come up with a collection that is very wearable, effortless and universally charming and chic.

Imagine some of the looks:

A waffle wool snake print coat revealing an organza feather peplum top with stretch crepe snake print leggings.

A flower and lace embellished mesh dress

Butterfly pleated wide-leg charmeuse pants with an organza ruffle collar top and boucle trench coat with leather details

A true beauty and definite proof of Joy’s cultured capabilities was the washed chiffon and organza ruffle and crystal-pleated gown.

Joy’s rise to the top has been a life-changing experience and she is so very thankful for family and friends in Florida that have always been supportive and encouraged her to follow her dreams.  She never forgets where she started and because of that, she will pivot to great places in the future.
