Women love a fashion conscious man and with the innovative fashions of designer label Duckie Brown, men don’t mind being stylish in their own incomparable way.
The Fall 2013 Collection of Duckie Brown gave us something to ponder as it usually does. The designers put immense meaning into every design that is born in their creative minds. This collection was called ‘Ducky!’ and took place on February 7, 2013 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York at Industria Superstudio.
It was all about layering, about dark and deep colors and some bright shades, slits and bringing out the personality in a season ripe with change.
While overcoats played a dominant role, leather bomber jackets were ready to bring on the Fall. Since the cool weather is just beginning to set the stage for this season, jean jackets and even a cape made a brief appearance. Layering was an allover effect in outerwear as a bomber was worn on top of an overcoat and then paired with a double pant.
Fabrics were winter-inspired such as wool. Where one color may have been used for the majority of the piece, a bit of contrasting color was seen under the arm or trimming the bottom of the coat and the wrists. You could say that the trend of color-blocking has survived the Fall and is here to stay for a few more seasons. Out of the collection was born the cape raincoat, an interesting combination to cover in inclement weather. Exaggerated sleeves were one of those qualities that seems to set this collection apart from the rest.
The design team that made it all a reality was Daniel Silver and Steven Cox who seem to put a passion and purpose into their work with each collection that they give us. They get five stars for their tailoring techniques and their ability to bring a concept to full fruition. It was simply ‘Ducky!‘.
