Through the dedicated and continuous efforts of The American Cancer Society, every day of every year the organization helps to save lives in so many instrumental ways.

On Thursday, May 17th, there will be a celebration of life as The American Cancer Society holds its Fourth Annual Pink and Black Tie Gala at Stage 6, Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, New York.  This is a time to recognize outstanding leaders who have contributed to Brooklyn’s health care, cultural and business community.  This is a way to raise awareness in the fight against cancer.

Labeled as one of the leading charitable events of the year in Brooklyn, it draws in attendees from all walks of life.  Corporate sponsors, businesses, health care and social leaders, individuals and supporting celebrities will come together to support the cause by raising funds for the Society’s patient services and programs in addition to national life-saving research.  This year the event will be known as “Made In Brooklyn”.

The event will be hosted by renowned style expert, Stacy London, of TLC’s ‘What Not to Wear’.  The host of the ‘Pink Carpet’ festivities will be fashion’s finest, Cat Greenleaf of NBC’s ‘Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf’.  Auctioneer for the evening will be comedian Chuck Nice.  The auction promises to be full of impressive packages such as luxury travel, fashion gifts and unique experiences.

There will be an elegant cocktail reception along with a world-class dining experience.  The entertainment begins with dancing to the sounds of the popular DJ Diamond (“The Artist”) who has appeared with Beyonce and Prince and has been seen on MTV, BET, Fuse, Much Music, Soul Train and Fox 5 Television.

The 2012 Honorees are:

The New York Daily News, one of the proud sponsors of the event and a media partner to the American Cancer Society and its fight against breast cancer.
