Making Mom Feel Special

Making Mom Feel Special

It was an exceptional Mother’s Day because not only was it celebrated on Sunday, May 10, 2015, but the festivities honoring Mom began much earlier and will continue into the next week. On Thursday morning, May 7th, 2015, many moms came together for the ‘Mom Moguls Breakfast’ at Urbo. This exceptional way for moms to come together has become a favorite event marking its third big year. Moms come together for everything from fashion to fitness to entertainment and even more. Divamoms.com hosted the breakfast that was held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., making sure that each and every mom and mom-to-be had an unforgettable time. The founder of the organization is Lyss Stern and Veronica Webb Del Gatto was instrumental in coordinating the moderation of the panel.

At this year’s ‘Mom Moguls Breakfast’, both women moderated a panel with fellow moms, giving advice on how to continue to have a successful career and stay committed to their families all the while. It can be a difficult balancing act but Divamoms.com  can lead moms down the proper path to succeed at doing both with the least amount of stress.

Over 200 mothers dined on fruit and French toast in a sunlit room amongst elegant décor and vibrant florals in shades of white, pinks and reds.  Guests included Heba Abedin, June AmbroseMacDella CooperAndrea Greeven DouzetErika KatzJacky Teplitzky, Tatiana Vidus and Bonnie Young.

As the early morning event kicked off, guests were treated to hair, makeup and nail services by Glam Squad and Louis Licari hair.  Representatives from Oil and Water rain coats, Urban Sitters, Bedgear, DK Nannies, The Adventure Park at Long Island, Sotheby’s Realty, and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament were also on hand to share with the moms.

Next DivaMoms.com CEO Lyss Stern kicked off the discussion with a hard hitting question about the defining moment in each panelist’s career that separated them from the rest of the pack and led them down the path they are on today. First to answer was Aliza Licht who exclaimed ‘way to start off with easy questions before I even had coffee’ which made the room erupt in laughter.

Additional questions included everything from what time do you wake up to how would you describe being a mom in three words to tips for starting a new business. The moms went on to share light hearted stories of entrepreneurial and career tales, how they spend time with their kids and of course carve out personal time for themselves. One thing in the room was clear, the sense of moms celebrating and helping each other was authentic and heartfelt.

The event ended with lucky raffle winners receiving a YOYO Baby Zen stroller, a $100 gift card to Barneys NY and a trip to The Palms Hotel in South Beach Florida with Aveda Spa services.

A portion of the event’s proceeds was donated to the Children’s Justice Campaign, an organization whose main mission is to protect children’s constitutional rights and promote their health and well-being in law and society.

Just one day before Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 9th and extending through next Saturday, May 16th, if you happen to get into a New York taxi cab within that time frame, you just may have some excitement in store for you. Everyone in New York City knows ‘The Moms’. They are widely listened to on SiriusXM, and know just about every celebrity that lives within the city, having interviewed a wide variety of these stars. Those two women are Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein. Their latest campaign is Kindness Safari Day at zoos all around the nation.  The big day is scheduled for May 16th.  It is an opportunity for families to come together and do something fun. To spread the word, ‘The Moms’ will be riding in yellow taxis all across the city.

These two devoted moms know that their families come first and they are part of this ongoing initiative which teaches children how important kindness is, ‘Kind Parents, Kind Kids.’ They make the lessons fun by using activities that every member of the family can participate in, and in turn, promote their vision in the most instrumental of ways.

So how did your mom celebrate her Mother’s Day? Did you make it special for her? Keep her heart lifted and join her, wherever you may be, for a day at the zoo on May 16th for Kind Parents, Kind Kids.

Happy Mother’s Day to all those moms who mean so much to us!
