New York’s finest hit the red carpet last night at Cipriani 42nd Street to show their support at Operation Smile’s 14th Annual Smile Gala. Looking flawless in a Derek Lam deep V-neck black sequined dress, accented with a chic silver clutch and pointy nude heels, actress Kate Hudson was honored with the Universal Smile award for her years of charity work. Master of Ceremonies Brooke Burke-Charvet arrived in high spirits in a long black sequin gown alongside husband, David Charvet. The night kicked off with an emotional video that left the elite crowd in tears including Smile Award recipient, Kate Hudson.

Blue lights lit up the room as the Mother’s Day star gracefully accepted her Smile Award bringing everyone to their feet. Amongst those cheering her on were, fashion and entertainment industry A-listers Untitled’s Jason Weinberg, Christian Louboutin’s VP Alvina Patel, Oscar de la Renta’s VP Judgie Graham, Proenza Schouler’s Daniel Motta Mello, and Nylon’s Style DirectorDani Stahl.

Hudson, still in tears, thanked Operation Smile Co-Founders, Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee for their years of inspiration and dedication in helping children all over the world. She challenged those in the room to continue to support such a great cause stating “ we must use our fame and power towards the betterment of children.”

NBC actors Jaime Alexander, Yaya Dacosta, Oliver Platt, Diego Klattenhoff, and Colin Donnell attended the affair in support of NBC’s President of Entertainment, Jennifer Salke, a 10 year smile ambassador. Blindspot’s Jaimie Alexander owned the evening in a breathtaking neck plunging and backless Andrea Fascinetto custom plum gown as she joked with guests about having on clothes and being tattoo-free.

The night came to an end with a powerful performance from A Great Big World who lit up the room with their electric set of songs including Billboard hit “Say Something”. New York socialitesDori Cooperman, Claudine DeNiro , Jennifer Creel, and International racecar driver, Matt Halliday headed to the after party where they danced and drank champagne to the sounds of DJ Eric Hutchinson.
