Mercedes-Benz Spring 2012 Fashion Week is finally here. This is the one-year anniversary at Lincoln Center for the style-changing event. The curtain is rising and the facade that has been revealed is so new and so sleek. The lineup of designers is bigger and better than ever this season.

The week is hailed in on Thursday with such world-renowned fashion greats as Max Azria and BCBG. A brand with a sophisticated attitude and a loyal following of celebrities such as Sharon Stone and Fergie, the new Spring 2012 Collection is sure to be an artistic masterpiece of beauty. The fall line had flowing fabrics in deep blues and rich plums. This is a lifestyle and trusted name that will certainly hold some wonderful surprises.

Another Thursday show that will be filled with elegance and intrigue is Tadashi Shoji. In this designer’s eyes, a woman is the epitome of femininity and class. Through the use of silk and satin and lace and ruffles, his genius shines through on the runway.

The stage is set on Thursday for other trendsetting designers such as Nicholas K, Porter Grey, Richard Chai, Supima and Candela. It’s a lineup that is sure to invoke many ooohs and aaahs.

One of my favorites bringing classic cutting edge design to the runway on Saturday is Ruffian. They have earned high praise from Vogue and are the past recipients of the Fashion Group International Rising Star award. Their talent is unsurpassed and Fall 2011 was a seamless example with a black appliqued lace dress, a patent tuxedo, white feathers and a wine and black lace fur coat. Every woman turns into a princess in their timeless collections.

September 8th through the 15th is sure to be an exciting week of fantastic fashion and style at Mercedes-Benz Spring 2012 Fashion Week. Stay tuned for more coverage coming soon.
