To most New Yorkers, October signifies the changing of the seasons and the arrival of cooler temperatures. But more importantly, October has become known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Nationwide, there are a multitude of fund raising events taking place throughout the month in support of breast cancer research and education. The City of New York is host to “FFANY SHOES ON SALE” where you can ‘Shop For a Cause’.   Once again, for the 17th year in a row, QVC Shopping Channel and Fashion Footwear Association of New York join forces to support Breast Cancer Research and Awareness through two huge charitable events.
Wednesday, October 13th, kicks off the festivities with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and shoe shopping at Frederick P. Rose Hall on Broadway at 60th Street from 6:00 to 9:30 PM EST.
On Friday, October 15th at 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM EST, sit back and relax in the comfort of your home and tune in to QVC Shopping Channel for a shoe sale like none other. Over the years the list of shoe benefactors has significantly grown, thus allowing QVC and FFANY to offer a wide variety of styles, colors and sizes of shoes for purchase to the American live and viewing audience. With more than 100,000 pairs of shoes available, the prices are slashed in half which gives you an even bigger incentive to shop. The proceeds go to support Breast Cancer Research and Education.   So far from past years, 1 million shoes have been sold and $32.5M donated to fund cutting-edge research and education at leading hospitals and organizations across the country thus creating a nationwide network of research centers. Each facility concentrates on individual faces of breast cancer research.

I traditionally buy at least one pair of shoes each year and I can attest to the fact that I am a very satisfied customer.
