The Showcase Jamaica USA Concert Series is getting ready to glorify Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of self-government on Long Island.  It is a time of proclamation and celebration for all.

On Saturday, March 31st at 6:30 P.M., the Calvary Tabernacle Auditorium at 78 North Franklin Street in Hempstead, L.I. will showcase some of the finest talent in the industry.   Headliners who will be performing will be Paulette Bellamy, Jon Williams, Alex Martin-Blanken, The Greater Jamaica Chorale Ensemble, folklorist Teddy Crawford and others.

.

This is only the beginning for ‘The Jamaica We Know, but Rarely See’ series.  They will travel cross state and ultimately across the country, stopping in communities with a Jamaican demographic.

These accomplished artists will epitomize the traditional Jamaican culture and give listeners a deep appreciation for Jamaican music.

The concert will also incorporate the newly introduced Overseas Jamaican Academy Awards (OJA) in an “Oscar-Like” presentation which will highlight the achievements of outstanding Jamaicans overseas in addition to the impact that Jamaica has had on U.S. and World History.
