#StellasWorld – Eco-Warrior
What do you get when you take a popular British designer and a creative awareness-building platform? It becomes a collaboration of passion, resulting in ultimate reward and fulfillment.
Stella McCartney, an environmental activist and devoted spokesperson for saving the planet, as well as being an iconic designer and daughter of an amazing dad, Paul McCartney of Beatles fame, is partnering with Parley For The Oceans. The focus is about raising a sense of awareness about our global oceans, rallying all the assistance possible to save it before it becomes too late. It is crucial to building the momentum necessary for change to take effect. If there is any doubt about the validity of the immense significance that the ocean has on a man, think about these small, yet unimaginable, statistics. Paint an image in your mind of the enormity of a dump truck’s bed. Fill it up and there you have the amount of plastic entering our oceans every minute of every day. By 2050, by weight, there may be more plastic than fish in the oceans. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living structure on Earth and it is found in the ocean. The larger species of fish are experiencing up to 90% in disappearance ratio since 1950. All these startling facts give you something to think about.
Another great warrior in the fight for sustainability and the hero of Stella’s latest design creation is Captain Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd in 1977, a non-profit marine conservation organization. Under Watson’s leadership and prowess, Sea Shepherd has been instrumental in halting worldwide poaching and unsustainable fishing, risking his life to do this and the lives of his passionate volunteer team. Captain Watson has been most influential through his environmental actions ranging from his work in the United States and clear across to Norway and beyond. Watson has also co-founded Friends of the Wolf and Earthforce Environmental Society. Captain Paul Watson has also been named one of the “50 people that can save the planet” by The Guardian publication for all his committed actions with Sea Shepherd.

Positivity and productivity have been proven over the past three years, with a 35% reduction of average environmental impact per kg of raw material. On her website, Stella introduces her clients to the Clevercare Initiative, reminding us of the most sustainable way to care for our garments. Care for your clothing while considering what is best for our planet.
