The Glamour Of The Bambi Awards 2014

On November 13, 2014, glamour and outstanding achievement went hand in hand as they were highlighted at the BAMBI Awards 2014 held at the Stage Theater in Berlin, Germany. The international cosmetics company Kryolan was the exclusive partner of the event and contributed by creating unique looks for the perfect red carpet appearance.

This award ceremony has been named as one of Germany’s largest society events of the year, attracting a talented national and international celebrity gathering each year. Being televised for a widespread audience, BAMBI Awards have garnered acclaim from over 6 million viewers, just in Germany alone. Media from all over the world feel privileged to be able to cover this fabulous event. BAMBI pays homage to the heroes of our time who have touched and inspired each of us with their actions, talents and visions. The names are well-known and the accomplishments are heroic. The awards have captivated audiences since 1948. The BAMBI media prize is awarded by Hubert Burda Media, one of Europe’s leading publishing houses.

Through this annual award presentation, Germany can show its appreciation for those individuals whose extraordinary abilities have so inspired the citizens of the nation. The familiar names of past attendees, award presenters and recipients include Muhammad Ali, Bill Clinton, David Copperfield, Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Audrey Hepburn, Tommy Hilfiger, Rock Hudson, Michael Jackson, Queen Rania of Jordan, Heidi Klum, Karl Lagerfeld, Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Loren, Nelson Mandela, Kylie Minogue, Keanu Reeves, Meg Ryan, Claudia Schiffer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Britney Spears, Kate Winslet.

The year 2014 was just as memorable with a distinguished list of nominees and winners. All were vastly deserving of the recognition and it was a difficult choice to make. The BAMBI award is eleven inches tall and eight inches long. It is cast in bronze, plated with 18 carat gold and weighs about five and a half pounds. With humble thanks, all gave a most fitting acceptance speech. Rising to accept their coveted award, the popular band, U2, won in the Music International Category. “U2 create rock music with attitude and poetic texts that Bono, their charismatic singer, verbalises with his unique voice. Guitarist The Edge, bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. provide the unmistakeable U2 sound of strong rhythms and melodies,” the jury said of their choice.

Another winner with her personality matching her beauty was Uma Thurman. She was named Best International Actress for a host of different roles that she has brought to life on the movie screen. Former F1 driver, Michael Schumacher, was awarded with the Millenium trophy. Other winners included Grammy-nominated pianist, Lang Lang, and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
Young and ambitious with an ever-growing fan base worldwide, Ariana Grande took home the Best Newcomer trophy. “Ariana Grande is a young singer with a powerful voice who knows how to combine pop, soul, hip-hop and electronic music to form an irresistible dance sound. Her hits set new records on iTunes, her concerts sell out and she has millions of fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Her unmistakeable voice and unusual range spanning five octaves make her one of the exceptional talents of our time,” the Bambi jury explained on why they chose this amazing artist. She celebrated her award by performing “Break Free” and “Problem”, both are from her newest LP “My Everything”.
A number of other awards in various categories were bestowed upon deserving individuals as well. As the event came to a most memorable end, the 66th Anniversary of the Bambi Awards 2014 will go down in the Bambi archives as triumphant and full of magical splendor.
