On Thursday, April 21st from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, the ultimate fashion and fundraising event was held at the exclusive Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton,Florida. The Achievement Centers for Children and Families partnered with the distinctive national retailer, Boston Proper, for a chic fashion show coupled with dinner, silent auction and a raffle with the prize being the bestselling 2011 Honda.
The evening started off strong with a wide variety of items for bidding in the silent auction such as clothing right off the runway, spa packages and celebrity sunglasses. Some of the more unique and larger items for bid were a North Carolina getaway, chance to be a Boston Proper model for a day and an opportunity to attend a private Boston Proper sample sale.
Prior to the fashion show, there was a heartwarming segment on the accomplishments of the Achievement Centers for Children and Families that definitely made an impact on the audience as the organization positively changes lives every day, builds communities through their persistent efforts and makes a difference as they strive to continue their hard work on a daily basis.
The big hit of the evening was the energized fashion show that transformed the room into a tropical paradise. There were clothing combinations in festive prints, sparkling solids and all the latest trends wrapped into a festive presentation of style. Dresses came in all lengths for daytime and nighttime. The maxi dress seems to be here to stay with the ocean getaway dress and the bright abstract dress, both of which were paired with chunky necklaces. The solid sheath dress is always popular with the square neckline and dressed up with a thin jeweled belt and large flattering necklace. A pretty blond model graced the runway in a romantic shimmer dress with ruffles across the length of the top. Accentuate your figure with the draped Grecian dress in bright orange with seamed empire waist. The innocent peasant dress took on a couple of great looks. A paisley print scoop neck dress would be perfect for an afternoon affair or the puckered peasant dress in white is the answer to a sunset beach party. Don’t forget to throw on a wide-brimmed hat to protect you from the UV rays of the sun. Long skirts are great paired with solid white tees topped with a fringe or a denim vest. As the runway began to heat up, a couple of striking swimsuits made their way down the catwalk. With summer comes the white pant which is versatile enough to wear with any kind of top. We saw the long sleeved ruffle top and the embellished pink tunic top with wide sleeves worn with white jeggings. The clothes kept coming in an array of styles, colors and looks.
The evening was a huge success and the crowd was kept entertained throughout the evening.
