As we look forward to the arrival of Spring, art lovers are enthusiastically awaiting The Tribeca Film Festival that takes place in New York City on an annual basis.

The Tribeca Film Festival celebrates the extensive world of art, whether it be in filmmaking or on canvas.  For the 11th consecutive year, The Tribeca Film Festival Artists Award Program, created by Tribeca co-founder Jane Rosenthal and sponsored for the 7th year by cultural giant Chanel, celebrates local artists by awarding works of art to filmmakers selected by the TFF jury as winners in their respective categories.

The 2012 Tribeca Film Festival is presented by American Express and gives us new and extraordinary talent that will move our hearts and thrill our souls.  At this same time, 11 major contemporary artists will display and generously donate their paintings, photographs, etchings, prints or sculptures:

Peter Dayton, Walton Ford, Stephen Hannock, JR, Kim Keever, Clifford Ross, Nathan Sawaya, Cindy Sherman, Hugo Tillman, Kara Walker and Stanley Whitney

For three weeks, from April 5th through April 25th, between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. (except Easter), the public will be able to view these great works of art for free at the New York Academy of Art, 111 Franklin Street in Manhattan.  If you are passionate about fine art, there could be no bigger treat and none more special than this.  Plus, this gives you the opportunity to view the art prior to the opening of the festival when the Awards Ceremony takes place on the evening of April 26th, 2012.

This has come to be known as a distinctive and exceptional tradition that festival goers look forward to each year. The Tribeca Film Festival symbolizes culture at its finest.
