Thanks to the funding of the Affordable Care Act, this exciting challenge will award grants in March of 2012 for the applicants who can accomplish the goals of delivering better and improved health care, lower out-of-pocket costs to those enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, most significantly those individuals who are in the greatest need of medical services. Turnaround to implement these programs would preferably be within a six month time frame. Focusing on rapid workforce development is a major plus in the consideration for the grant.

In a period of three years time, between $1 million to $30 million will be awarded to deserving applicants.

Providers, payers, local government, community-based organizations, public-private partnerships and multi-payer approaches may all apply.

As is expected, those recipients awarded these grants will be monitored to track their progress as well as the savings derived over a period of time.
