2012 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED
By: Hope Wilkos Photographer: George Whylie Videographer: Maxine NolanFor the 5th consecutive year, The Recording Academy brought audiences around the world a primetime extravaganza of musical talent to announce the nominations for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards. “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night” was a one-hour entertainment special broadcast live for the first time on CBS from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The hosts for the evening were the very talented 2-time GRAMMY winner, LL Cool J. and 6-time GRAMMY winner, Taylor Swift.
As the nominees were revealed over the course of the hour, there was a star-studded lineup of performances to portray the power of music.
Maroon 5, Ne-Yo, Hunter Hayes, Janelle Monae were some of the names that excited the crowds in a magical way.
As Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, puts it, “The GRAMMY Awards process once again has produced a diverse and impressive list of nominations across multiple genres. This year’s nominees truly represent an exceptional and vibrant creative community that exemplifies some of the highest levels of artistry and excellence in their respective fields. Combined with the fifth year of our primetime nominations special, we’re off to an exciting start on the road to Music’s biggest night, The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards on February 10, 2013.”
