When one thinks of Christian Dior, they think of sophistication and class with a touch of femininity and flair.

The word on the runway these days has it that Christian Dior has found a successor to John Galliano. Galliano was fired from the House of Dior in March of this year following his arrest over an alleged anti-semitic tirade in a Paris bar.

Is it possible that Marc Jacobs may become the creative force behind House of Dior in the near future? Meetings are taking place in Paris between Dior officials and legal representatives for Jacobs. A New York native, Marc Jacobs has climbed the fashion ladder very quickly with much success. He joined Louis Vitton as Creative Director in 1997 and has taken the company to new heights. He created the first ready-to-wear clothing line for Vitton.

Marc Jacobs is also very popular for his own brand which has branched out in the last few years throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Latin America.

In 2009, Jacobs was ranked 15th on ‘Out’s’ magazine’s annual list of “50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America”.

If Jacobs were to move to Christian Dior, he could be replaced by Phoebe Philo, creative head of Celine.

Only time will tell what will happen in the fashion world but this could be the invigorating force needed at Christian Dior.
