A Weekend of Celebrations By: Hope Wilkos, Writer/Blogger Photos: AP Photo
There were a couple of monumental events taking place this weekend.
Last night, the Michael Forever-The Tribute Concert was held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales to celebrate the life and music of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The stadium was filled with 50,000+ fans.
The four hour show was full of energy and was more of a tribute to his life rather than a focus on his death. Appearing very grown-up and comfortable in the spotlight were Michael’s three children; Prince, Paris and Blanket. Each child wore an outfit similar to what their father would have worn. Paris wore a striking red and black ‘Thriller’ jacket, Blanket wore a red shirt, black tie and red arm band and Prince looked ‘bad’ in his ‘Bad Leathers’. Paris was beaming with big eyes and bright smiles as she said, “We’re very happy to be here on this special night to honor our father”. Brothers on hand and performing “Blame it on the Boogie” were Marlon, Tito and Jackie and his sister, La Toya, also performed for the audience.

The show continued on with Christina Aguilera, Gladys Knight and Cee Lo Green performing some of Jackson’s best songs. R&B star, Ne-Yo, did a rendition of ‘Billie Jean’ complete with the moonwalk.
Other awesome artists who got the crowd roaring were Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Beyonce and Jamie Foxx.
The finale “Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough” brought all the zealous performers back on stage moving to the beat including Michael Jackson’s children.
It was an intense evening full of wonderful memories.
Taking place today in London, Sir Paul McCartney wed for the third time to fiancee, Nancy Shevell, who he had popped the question to in May of this year. It was a small and simple wedding.
McCartney wore a blue suit and his bride complimented him with a long-sleeved white v-neck gown with a white flower in her dark long hair. Of course the designer of choice was none other than the famous Stella McCartney, daughter of Paul.

As the couple left Marylebone Town Hall bound for their home, crowds in the street went wild and confetti was flying.
Guests present were the only other surviving Beatle, Ringo Starr, as well as Shevell’s second cousin who is Barbara Walters.
The wedding venue was the same location where Paul wed his first love, Linda, whom he was married to for close to 30 years and who tragically died of breast cancer. Many friends compare Nancy to Linda and say that she is a wonderful companion for Paul. Whereas daughter Stella did not take to McCartney’s second wife, Heather Mills, she did take warmly and immediately to Nancy Shevell.
Linda Shevell is not seen regularly in the limelight. She is low-key and the daughter of a New Jersey trucking magnate. She is an executive at her father’s company, the New England Motor Freight, and a 10-year member of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority. She has a 19 year-old son from a previous marriage.
We wish the newly married couple much health, wealth and many years of happiness together.
