It’s official.  The holidays are here.  The VS Angels glistened, sparkled and blossomed at the Lexington Armory in New York City as they sauntered down the runway in what had to be one of the most lavish and sexiest Victoria’s Secret Show yet.

Divided into six segments, we witnessed a world of beckoning beauty in revealing lingerie and a multitude of outfits complete with wings, feathers, pompoms, capes and even life-size flowers.

The show began at ‘The Circus’.  The magic show will never be the same at the Big Top and if we thought that acrobats and sword-swallowers were the center of our attention, think again.  A tattoo-emblazoned angel beaming in black dressed to a different beat.  Glitter, extravagant headdresses, sequined camisoles all set the pace for a show that is proven to attract millions of viewers each year.

Next came ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ and a world of seduction if you dare.  Flirt if you may, stare if you must.  A smoky scene unveiled exotic outfits with temptation oozing from every one with a multitude of diamonds, a medieval influence and bell and cap sleeves for the skimpy and tempting tops.  A crinoline-bound silhouette lit up the stage as the model gave a smile and a wink to seduce her suitor.

‘Calendar Girls’ takes us sweeping through the months of the year beginning with Baby New Year complete with golden wings and pure as winter in white.  She is followed by a Valentine Sweetheart, Spring Showers and many more months of fun and frolic including a custom-made bride and a patriotic pin-up.  Who could forget Football Season with the cheerful cheerleader?

That segment led into the ‘Pink Ball’ a musical menagerie of toys, childhood characters and plenty of stars and stripes, kaleidoscopes of color, PINK NATION panties, a precious pinball machine, Peppermint Stick Patty, a wild gazelle, a cowgirl complete with rope wings, the prettiest toy soldier in glittering red, white and blue and even a wind-up angel coming to life before our very eyes.

Glamour goes to the extreme in ‘Silver Screen Angels’ with luxurious fabrication and opulent beading in black and white including a sultry, silver long skirt complete with train.  A film reel provided the backdrop and plenty of showgirls, satin, elegance and extravagance.  Joan Smalls wore an exquisite diamond bra and a buxom blond in deep blue with diamonds stole the scene.  It was perhaps one of the best segments of the evening putting us into the dreamy era of the silver screen.

The show ended with ‘Angels In Bloom’ as huge vibrant flowers walked down the runway with brilliant smiles and blazing outfits along with a twinkle in their eyes.  This collection signified all the sweet-smelling fragrances that Victoria’s Secret  has to offer.  Orchids, petals, a million dollar diamond sequined bra, a lily pad, even a flower in bloom were all part of the memorable ending.   These stunning beauties were like a breath of fresh air and would all make our gardens grow wildly.

The show was filled with handmade couture, intricate details that demanded attention.  Victoria’s Secret uses only the best artisans in the world to make their collections a reality.

In addition to a runway show, Victoria’s Secret had much more to offer its audience.  Guest performers included Rihanna looking as ethereal as the angels themselves in a flattering strapless black gown with high-cut slit up the leg and a precious pink outfit that fit right into the festivities.

Bruno Mars sang two of his popular hits preparing us for the release of his latest album and of course, the girls were overcome with ‘Bieber fever’ as Justin Bieber made his way to the stage to sing two very different songs but capturing hearts all the while.

The angels shared candid moments with us as we learned some of their likes and dislikes and got to know Supermodel Candice Swanepoel who has an inner and outer beauty and a sense of innocence and intrigue.  Her success as a status symbol in the modeling circles is simply amazing.

The night was full of surprises and we are always sad to see it come to a close but we know that the brand will stock their stores with remembrances of the joyous evening which will include tees, robes, model makeup and fragrances, alluring bras and bewitching lingerie.

Until next year, make it an ‘Angelic Victoria’s Secret Holiday!’
