What could be more magical than a fashion getaway to the island paradise of Aruba? From November 3rd through November 6th, Aruba became the hottest island in the Caribbean as it sizzled with a celebration of style known as Aruba In Style 2011.

In association with world-class fashion leader, IMG, international designers from Venezuela and Colombia and Brazil and Dutch Netherlands, brought their latest collections to the runway. There was even more to keep visitors busy. Celebrity cocktail parties, premier DJ Events and styling sessions made it a non-stop soiree of fun and fantasy.

The island of Aruba holds an abundance of surprises for visitors from breathtaking beaches to the very best of shopping, cuisine and nightlife. It draws in millions of tourists each year daring to escape from the everyday world.
Official sponsors of the event included Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino, Renaissance Mall, Red Sail Sports Aruba, Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino, Occidental Grand Aruba and Aeropuerto Internacional Reina Beatrix. The largest sponsor was the Aruba Tourism Authority.

The festivities began with a ‘fashion and cocktail shopping night out’. Attendees were treated to an elegant presentation by the expert in exquisite jewelry, David Yurman. Emilio Pucci and Porshe made a presence with their chic eyewear.
The runway came alive with the very finest of models such as Kelly Hughes and Debbie St. Pierre of Next Miami and Diego Miguel (Brazil) of Wilhelmina Model Management New York.

Big fashion names included Aqua Di Lara, Artez-Dutch Group Show, Beach Bunny, Custo Barcelona, diNeila Brazil, Edwin Oudshoorn-Dutch Group Show, Eva Zissu-Venezuelan Group Show, Giovani Scutaro-Venezuelan Group Show and Issa London.

Shapes and colors were the big message of the designer shows. Brightly colored pastels lit up the runway with patterns drawing the eye to the outfit of the moment. Solids in beiges and browns were sparked with sequins to dazzle the audience. Suit dressing with khaki pants and shorts were the takeaway for men. Fabrics revealed a peek at shapely figures with lace and netting. Bright bikinis in greens, aquas and purples were figure flattering. The animal print is alive and well and adorned a backdrop of solid black for a sultry impression. Strapless gowns flowed with an air of extravagance and sexy slits. The island influence was certainly easy to identify in many of the outfits. V-necks and the draped neckline were true winners for the season.

This was a very successful event that will kick off an annual celebration of fashion, entertainment and lifestyle and draw crowds from all over the world to make each year even bigger and better than the last.

See you next year!
