In a twist of fate, Dr. Conrad Murray has been found guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

The trial of Dr. Murray has taken close to six weeks of emotional testimony and the decision was reached after 10 long hours of deliberation. It was a unanimous vote by the 12 jurors that Dr. Murray was directly responsible for Jackson’s death by administering the deadly dose of Propofol, a powerful sleep sedative not usually used for insomnia.

Murray was somber and stonefaced with no emotion as the verdict was read and Jackson’s family were relieved to know that justice was done even though it will not bring Michael back. Murray was immediately handcuffed and led out of the courtroom. He will remain in custody until his November 29th sentencing which will seal his fate. The doctor could potentially have his medical license revoked and spend 4 years in prison. Many witnesses were called to the stand throughout the trial and with each one’s testimony, the doctor’s negligence towards his patient was further revealed. Although Dr. Murray’s defense attorney tried to paint a picture of a very humane, kind and caring doctor, it was not convincing enough. The strategy that he used was that Michael Jackson administered the fatal dose of Propofol himself in an effort to end his life.

However, we all know that in the end, justice was truly served.
