Beauty to Behold

One of the most elegant and highly anticipated shows of Spring/Summer 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was the unveiling of the Badgley Mischka Collection.
Inspired by the 1988 film White Mischief, soft beauty was set in motion with side parted full curls, shimmery metallic eye shadows, strong blush and sensual lips.
Long silky gowns clung to the body in soft colors of peach, rose, white, silver, gold and grey.
Models appeared on the runway in strapless mermaid-like gowns with intricate beading. Embellished corset tops gave a sense of refinement to gowns.
Simple sheath dresses became so much more with open backs or with macramé diamond backing.
A white above the knee dress was divine with a low-cut neckline finished off beautifully with a large silver and gold accessorized necklace.
High waist grey pants turned formal paired with a diamond rope vest. Some of the pants and shorts were paired with light fabric ruffled vests that fit together perfectly.
A brilliant red hue was used in a variety of ways; shirt, knee length dress and long ruffle tiered gown.
A model glided down the runway in what resembled a silver flapper dress with distressed sequins.
A voluptuous take on the day to night look coordinated diamond-like gold shorts with a spaghetti strap flutter bottom top trimmed in gold lines. It was simply sensational.
A graceful white square neck tight fitting gown was adorned with diamonds on the top of the shoulders. It could only be called simple chic.
A floor length beaded jacket in a sheer and light fabric was worn over a silky amazing strapless full length dress. It resembled the evening attire that a bride would wear on her wedding night.
Black and silver sparkles glistened on a white bride-like gown.
There were so many glamorous looks to behold in this spectacular show. Mark Badgley and James Mischka are geniuses with their ornate and luxurious styles. Their brand has been represented by spokespersons such as Sharon Stone and Teri Hatcher. One of their claims to fame was their creation of Charlotte’s second wedding dress on Sex and The City.
What woman wouldn’t want to feel like a goddess in these lovely outfits which can be found at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdoff Goodman. Badgley and Mischka also have two exclusive stores in West Hollywood and one store on Palm Beach.
