Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s daughter is expected to undergo a thorough examination today, after she was injured falling from a horse Friday.
Georgina Bloomberg, 27, was knocked unconscious when she tumbled off her horse at an equestrian tournament in Syracuse.
According to her publicist, she fell from her mount, Radio City, when her saddle came loose during a jump. She suffered a concussion and a fractured spine, but walked out of the arena on her own.
She went to the hospital Saturday when she experienced back pain.
A spokesman for the mayor says Bloomberg is “very concerned as any father would be.”
This is not the first equestrian accident for the professional show jumper. Georgina Bloomberg suffered a fractured vertebra during a fall in 2003.
