The world-famous U.S. Open is well underway in New York through September 9, 2012 with the excitement of professional tennis, powerful celebrities and the most superlative tennis players in the industry going head to head for the glory of winning.

On August 28, 2012, as a tribute to the U.S. Open, the first annual Moet & Chandon “Tiny Tennis” Invitational took place with stars and designers such as Julie Henderson, Rebecca Minkoff, Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl all competing in friendly matches on the grassy rooftop of The Standard Hotel within close proximity to the ever-trendy Meat Packing District of New York City.

Exhibition players, Horacio Silva and Bee-Shyuan Chang faced off against each other and guests while VP of Moet & Chandon Imperial Champagne, Ludovic Du Plessis, watched on with referee tennis legend, Jim Courier.  This is the official champagne of the U.S. Open.

Glasses were full and champagne was plentiful as Olivia Palermo defeated even Du Plessis (first round winner) in the finals and reality star of ‘The City’ took home the grand title of “Tiny Tennis” winner along with her very own Moet Jeroboam, crystalized with her name.

Du Plessis was still in that tennis mood and made his way over to the Moet suite at the U.S. Open just in time to see the talented Serena Williams become triumphant on the courts.  He entertained the lovely actress, Amanda Seyfried, who had decided to catch the Open from the comfort of the suite and enjoying in style with Moet & Chandon champagne in golden goblets with Morimoto sushi.  She is a huge fan of the sport.

Before leaving, Amanda lent her signature to the crystalized U.S. Open Moet Jeroboam bottle in the suite.  The bottle has certainly become acclaimed with signatures from Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin, Stanley Tucci and Selita Ebanks who autographed it the night before.  In the name of philanthropy, the bottle will be auctioned off for tennis charity that USTA serves.
