CHARLESTON FASHION WEEK IS AROUND THE CORNER

The fashion focus will soon be on New York City and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but that is only the beginning to a loaded season of style. In the months that follow this Fall 2014 Collection debut, other fashion weeks across the nation and across the globe kick off a new sense of style and trend-setting fashions to add to our wardrobes.
The emphasis will soon be put on Charleston Fashion Week 2014, a magnificent way to travel a little bit further south to historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina, to experience a week of some of the finest design talent in the nation.
Charleston Fashion Week began in 2007 and has quickly moved up the ranks to become one of the premiere events of the year on an annual basis. Emerging designers are given the opportunity of a lifetime to showcase their work and a chance to gain fame in the design and modeling industry.
In 2014, the event is set to take place from March 18-22, 2014, and it only gets bigger and better each year. The schedule is filled with activities that scream ‘all things fashion’. Media, buyers, photographers, celebrities and fashion enthusiasts can look forward to viewing more than 35 runway shows, an Emerging Designer Competition, the Spring Bridal Show with elegant fashions and ‘Rock The Runway Model Competition’. Many a designer and model have had their famous careers launched at Charleston Fashion Week. Not only will your calendar be completely filled with fabulous trends on the runway, but your evenings will be packed with interactive entertainment, chic after-parties and many exclusive press events.
Philanthropy takes a front seat and past partners include Center For Women, Lowcountry AIDS Services and MUSC Children’s Hospital. The 2014 charity is still to be announced so stay tuned.

• Showcase emerging designer and model talent, truly becoming a “pathway to New York”
• Increase awareness and media impressions for sponsors, runway participants, and local retailers
• Increase economic development for the region’s fashion, design, and retail communities
Statistics of Charleston Fashion Week are astonishing: In 2012, over 7500 guests attended and that number continues to rise each year, 112 media outlets were accredited to attend and cover, social media platforms brought record numbers of unique hits in the millions and best of all, the total economic impact to the city of Charleston was $2.4 million.
