CHRIS BENZ BIG BIRTHDAY BASH

Fashion Week wasn’t the only event making the news this past week.
American hot fashion designer, Chris Benz, also known as Prince of Color, celebrated his 30th birthday in style with a Birthday Bash on Sunday, September 10, 2012.
Earlier in the day, Benz had a very successful showing of his Spring 2013 Collection filled with layering and feminine florals attended by celebrities who love his designs as much as they love Benz himself. We spotted Susan Sarandon holding her two adorable furry friends as she admired the presentation.
This ‘Feast or Fashion House Party’ was hosted by Bon Appetit and Bombay Sapphire at 632 Hudson Townhouse in New York’s trendy West Village. Equally as beguiling as the designer himself was the 4-story townhouse filled with an astonishing collection of antiques and artifacts from around the globe. Benz himself was enjoying the Bombay Sapphire ‘Gin n’Juice’ cocktails, interestingly hand carbonated and chilled with liquid nitrogen.
Chandon made it ever so chic with a sparkling wine bar.
Friends who came out to join in the birthday celebration included longtime pal, Kelly Osbourne and her beau, Matthew Mosshart, Gossip Girl’s own Chace Crawford, supermodel Jessica Stam, Editor-in-Chief of Bon Appetit, Adam Rapoport, Nate Berkus, Alison Pill of ‘Midnight in Paris’ fame and ‘The Newsroom’ star and Anna Chlumsky who skyrocketed to fame as a child star.
As you gazed around the room, there was an ambrosial array of dishes to choose from. The menu included lemongrass chicken with romaine and peanuts, Char Sui pork with watermelon and tomato, late summer chilled corn soup, Soba noodles with pickled wasabi and soba dash and perilla leaf, salad with bacon-tamarind caramel and toasted coconut shrimp.
A wide selection of Bacardi Spirits included Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, Bacardi Superior, Dewar’s White Label and Cazadores.
Thanks especially go out to the talented chefs that made it all possible; Chef Dale Talde, Pastry Chef at Momofuku Milk, Christina Tosi and Mixologist Dave Arnold from Booker and Dax at Momofuku Ssam Bar.
This was surely a birthday that Chris Benz will remember for years to come.
