It is always a treat to attend a DESIGUAL Fashion Show. The brand took us into the sublime once again at New York Fashion Week held earlier in February. DESIGUAL paid homage to the ever-evolving and forever inspiring urban metropolis.

Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2016-2017
The Autumn/Winter 2016 DESIGUAL presentation took place on February 11, 2016 at The Skylight @ Moynihan Station in New York City. Through brilliant colors and magically diverse patterns and textures, the theme unfolded on the runway. This season it all centered around city life, the essence of many interesting cultures coming together and sharing experiences through the eyes of fashion.
Fashion has become an ambassador, the visual clue to our collective conscious. And with this season’s collection DESIGUAL celebrates the women whose style makes the city streets so vibrant.
Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2016-2017
Florals were the main focus, some in harvest colors on the backdrop of black velvet. Sparkle and shine, glitz and glamour, velvet and silk were stand-out parts of many of the looks. The traditional bell-bottoms reappeared on the runway but much more glamorous shown in velvet. Full-length coats almost could be considered reversible, depending on your mood.

Accessories were a flattering accompaniment to each outfit. Fedoras, berets, small top hats along with tasseled drawstring bags and 3-D tights, gave us a taste of a century long gone. Fur stoles were more decorative draped across the outfit in a sophisticated manner than comforting from the cold. Makeup had that orangish glow matching many of the pieces worn.
The DESIGUAL goal is really quite simple. DESIGUAL is a visionary brand that has been celebrating individuality for 30 years and dressing people, not bodies. Each collection reminds us that self-expression comes straight from the heart. Looking beautiful can be done quite effortlessly.

The words ring out loud and clear as DESIGUAL attracts an all-star audience each and every season. This season was no different. Guests included fashion photographer and TV personality Nigel Barker; actors Arden Cho (MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’), Clare Foley (FOX’s ‘Gotham’), Eric West (USA’s ‘Satisfaction’) and Katherine McNamara (ABC’s ‘Shadowhunters’); reality television personality J. Alexander; French art director and model Julia Restoin-Roitfeld; Host of ‘The Real’ Adrienne Bailon; former ‘Bachelorette’ Andi Dorfman; and Pitbull’s Now & Then Label DJ Xenia Ghali.
