This wasn’t your ordinary New York Fashion Week for celebrated designer, . This fashion show, taking place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, was all about his customers, his followers and devoted fans that have thrown him directly into the arms of stardom.

This was the Fall 2016 Collection, unveiled before his friends, media critics and countless fans. The collection gave off a sense of individuality, the flirty freedom of all things that move, exaggerated  with feathers, streamers, slashes, chains and slits, all complimenting the look that seemed to rule the runway.

Textures ranged from tweeds to plaids to tattersalls. Fabrics were livened with luxe metallic brocades and charming florals. A feeling of sweet romance filled the atmosphere with romantic blouses and dresses juxtaposed with polished tailoring. Leggy skirts and dresses in A-line or softly pleated shapes shook us to the core. Fall brings cooler temperatures and to welcome that breath of fresh air, wear shrunken jackets and trim, tailored coats or oversized furs and shearlings in shorter lengths.

The look simply would not be complete without accessories, like the chain handled envelope bag, the studded camera bag and go walking in shoes with personality, from the chunky loafer to the rock’n’roll Mary Jane to the streamlined kitten to the sexy stiletto.

Once the presentation came to a close, fans that had attended in person or watched on the Kors website were in for a real treat. Love it on the runway and it was within hands reach, able to become part of your wardrobe directly after the show. Kors offered select styles right from the runway and introduced to the world, brand new, for Fall 2016. The range, entitled ‘Ready-to-Wear, Ready to Go’, included ready-to-wear, shoes and handbags. It was made available for purchase on and at the Madison Avenue Collection store in New York, which is showcasing the featured Fall collection product—as well as video of the show—in its windows.

To make it even more desirable, the first show was held at the Madison Avenue Collection Store and then three additional special events were held later at the same  Madison Avenue store along with the Manhasset and Chicago Collection stores, where clients were able to view and pre-order any of the Fall 2016 styles.

“Our customer doesn’t think in terms of seasons, she just thinks about what works for her life and what she’s in love with. I thought it would be a great idea to give her the opportunity to sprinkle some key items from the runway into her current wardrobe,” says Michael Kors.

Michael Kors doesn’t stop there though. He launched an uber-fun new series this past June called Glamour Games, an ingenious way to bond with his millions of fans, true to the brand. Shortly after New York Fashion Week ended, the devoted designer released a new video tapping the versatile and lovely model, Lily Aldridge, in a face off rapid-fire challenge of “Guess The Famous Fashion Icon.”  Think of this as a game of charades. First, the rules were explained quickly for three 60-second rounds. First round gives you the opportunity to describe the mystery person in 10 words or less. Then, in the second round, you can only describe the person in three words or less. The third round is the most difficult and most challenging. You cannot say any words, it has to be all gestures. The video went virile and the impersonations were hysterical. Both Michael and Lily did pretty well in such a short amount of time.  Michael began his series of glamour installments back in June and invited top model, Gigi Hadid to join him. The video received over 1 million views. We eagerly await the next installment of “Guess The Famous Fashion Icon.”
