September 12, 2012 marked a fashion first as Dore’ Designs, the top design line for the ballroom dance industry, debuted a new line of glamorous evening wear.

The gleaming event took place in The Arena on West 41st Street in New York City under the huge crystal chandelier.  This was not your ordinary fashion show.  It was a much anticipated production of style, talent and class.

Dawn Smart is the designer behind this highly successful brand that is always in demand by dancers, skating champions, finalists and dance novices all across the globe.  Smart has perfected her designs over a 30 year time span and continues to bring her customers high quality gowns of jersey, crepe, silk and elastin.  Dawn has had a history of being a professional dancer and studio manager herself which gives her that unique edge.  The company currently sponsors 42 professional and amateur couples in the United States and Canada.

All the gowns are custom-made so that they capture the individuality of the customer that they are being made for.

As the lights dimmed and the guests quieted, an amazing dance duo appeared on stage to unite for a lively performance in glistening Dore’ fashions.  Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach mesmerized the crowds with their seductive sway and sultry dance moves as every sequin on their costume shimmered brightly as they bounced off the crystals of the chandelier.

This performance was followed by a procession of tall voluptuous models in gowns with Swarovski crystals and unsurpassed embellishment.  The gowns were regal colors of black and white and a powerful red with a fairy-tale tulle bottom.  Some had plunging necklines and fell impeccably against the body.  The attention to intricate detail was astounding as each model glided down the runway.  All the right angles were accentuated.  The gowns captured and enhanced every movement made.  Seeing this show made us realize why Dore’ Designs is the industry leader for ballroom fashion and so widely requested in national and international dance competitions.

After the show, another dance couple hit the stage with a ferocity of passion, Vard Margaryan and Sofya Fil.  In Dore’ Designs costumes, they transformed the stage and their moves were simply amazing.

The show didn’t stop there.  Dance music chart-topper and #1 UK Recording Artist, Sarah Atereth, performed two of her hits with her own unique dance moves accompanied by two dancers at her side.   The attendees were thrilled to see Sarah perform and were rocking in their seats.

After a brief intermission, another unique designer with a stunning collection was shown on stage front and center, Lisby Loriis.

Lisby had a distinctive edge to her fashions with the oriental influence clearly visible in the pieces.  Rich fabrics completed the line mainly composed of dresses and versatile clothing for day and evening.  It was such an amazing collection and a chic show.

So what is next for Dore’ Designs as creator and CEO, Dawn Smart, continues to design custom gowns for influential women around the world?  Smart will be expanding her line by couture and ready-to-wear lines for evening as well as practice wear that will be customized for dance studios to brand themselves.  Sounds like we will be seeing more of Dore’ Designs at future fashion weeks.
