IMG/Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Week is finally here By Hope Wilkos, Blogger

As the excitement builds, New York Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Week has finally arrived. The white marble Mercedes-Benz Wall has been erected at Lincoln Center signifying the beginning of another great week sure to be filled with many pleasant surprises.

Over the last few weeks, there has been much preparation taking place in snow, sleet and unfavorable weather conditions to ensure that Lincoln Center will be the perfect venue for this bi-annual event.

As is customary, the ever powerful ‘The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection’ appropriately kicks off the shows on Wednesday evening, February 9th. This is a campaign meant to raise awareness of the risk of heart disease in women. You are always in store for a treat as the celebrities come out to model for a great cause.

The week will be filled with over 100 designer shows that take place both on and off site. There are fantastic events and unveilings going on all over the city.

As Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Week winds down on February 17th, one of the most entertaining and chic designers of our time completes the week. The fun and flirty L.A.M.B. Show is presented by the glamorous designer, Gwen Stefani.

The largest sponsor of Fashion Week is Mercedes-Benz who takes the spotlight with their hard work and dedication. Other well-known sponsors include DHL, American Express, Maybelline, Tressemme, W Hotels, Starbucks, AOL, Diet Pepsi, Kim Crawford Wines, Ideeli, The Heart Truth, Fiji Water, New York Times, Getty Images and Rowenta.

Our great city welcomes industry officials and visitors with open arms for this unforgettable and economy-boosting week of fun and fashion.
