Beginning on September 19th and continuing through September 23, 2016, the fourth annual Miami Fashion Film Festival (www.MIAFFF.org) will showcase the exhilaration, art and culture of fashion as seen from behind the lenses of those who understand the industry the best, outstanding filmmakers.
It is colorful, it is creative and it shares with the inquisitive audience all the various meanings of fashion yesterday and today, including shaping our fashion in the future, from not only a local point of view, but, an international point of view as well. See how truly interdependent art and fashion really are as some of the finest films debut in the heart of Miami Beach and tell the fascinating story. See the films in real and digitally imagined environments and peer into a designer’s psyche and craft through revealing documentaries.
Attend the event and you will be treated to exhibits, workshops, experimental shorts, fashion-in-film classics, stimulating discussions with local fashion creatives using design, titillating movies symbolically representing all the styles that have pivotally shaped and inspired fashion as an industry. Wander down each of the avenues that are part of the film festival and make your own conclusions and interpret each part of the festival in your own unique way. That is the beauty of film. It is all in the eyes of the beholder.
Not only are beauty and endless possibilities examined in detail, but, also learn about the challenges for women, youth and professionals in this ever-changing industry of fashion, not just nationally, but, globally as well.
Philanthropy is built right in to the larger picture. The proceeds from the Miami Fashion Film Festival go to benefit Fashion Inspires More (fashioninspires.org) which is a non-profit organization dedicating itself to expanding fashion dialogue through the power of art, technology and education.
The venue where the film festival is set to take is cozy and welcoming in the heart of Miami Beach. Miami Beach Cinematheque (mmbcinema.com) invites guests to feel right at home as they socialize, sip drinks and take advantage of everything that the Miami Fashion Film Festival has to offer. It is located at 1130 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida. With the date quickly approaching, all of the preparation is just about complete. Attendees can look forward to viewing a compilation of more than 30 various forms of film.
Talent will be overflowing with the result being riveting films such as the eagerly anticipated “Nice Lies” by Director Anna Radchenko who is a London based fashion photographer and visual artist, originally from Moscow. As you witness each of these films, fashion will blossom and flourish right before your very eyes.
Everyone knows that Miami is a thrilling city to party in and the celebration for the festival begins earlier than September 19th. On Saturday, September 10, 2016, head to Bloomingdale’s in Aventura Mall for an event that starts at 2:00 p.m. Aventura Mall is located at 196555 Biscayne Boulevard, Aventura, Florida. See some of the incredible and original pieces created by popular designers. Catch the looks on the runway, all available right there in Bloomingdale’s, exclusive to this anchor retailer. Bloomingdale’s is proud to donate 10% of tracked sales to the Fashion Inspires More “Fashion Discovery Project,” a youth workforce development program to help teens discover careers in fashion.
One entry is the allowable ticket limit per customer; you must be present to win. All you have to do is simply request a duplicate receipt and place it in the ballot box located on Level 2.
