Earlier this month on June 12, the world of football joined hands with the world of fashion for a magnificent gala, “Fashion Loves Football”, which was held at the imperial and regal National Opera House in Warsaw, Poland.

This interesting combination was a result of two very important accomplishments.  On the sports front, this day was one of the most significant days not only for the Poles but for Russians as well.  The ‘Euro 2012 Championships’ were celebrated as the teams took each other on at the National Stadium earlier in the day.  It was an exciting competition that kept sports fans on the edge of their seats.

On the fashion forefront, FashionTV hit their milestone 15th birthday.  This international fashion and lifestyle broadcasting television channel was founded by Polish-born president, Michel Adam Lisowski, in France.  You can never get your fill of fashion and this channel makes it possible to soak in fashion, beauty, glamour and style 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  It goes out to 500 million households in 193 countries across 5 continents.

This gala event was huge and could be felt across the capital city.  The party began promptly at 10:30 p.m. as celebrities and designers walked the Red Carpet and made their way into the Opera House to be greeted by Dictador Rum hostesses.  Anna Samusionek, Aldona Orman and Christian Karembeu were just some of the stars that were spotted.  The hosts of the evening were FashionTV’s own Hofit Golan and British Designer, Scott Henshall.  Hofit was dressed in the radiant fashions of a designer who shows winning collections as a regular at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week , Eva Minge.  She herself is a Poland native and her couture fashions amaze and enthrall each season.

Henshall is as talented being credited with the creation of the $5 million diamond-encrusted dress worn by Samantha Mumba at the 2004 premiere of  ‘Spider-Man 2’.  He is also given praise for his charity work.

French music diva, Patricia Kaas, commenced the evening with her animated performances of some of her favorite songs, some of which are part of a new album that she will be releasing.

The evening would not be complete without a fashion show.  Guests were treated to outfits from the collections of Jean Paul Gaultier, Escada, Gino Rossi, Georges Hobeika, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Igor Chapurin, Eva Minge and On Aura Tout Vu.

Wild colors for sheathes, shirts, pants and flowing jackets caught the eye.  The little black dress was emblazoned with sparkle and pizazz.  Over-the-top gowns in silky and rich fabrics were also out of this world.

Brown leather boots were worn over stretch leggings and finished with the newest trend, a short flouncy jacket.

Miss Polonia 2011, Marcelina Zawadzka, modeled in the show.  Make Up For Ever provided the makeup looks and Dessange was the main hair stylist.  Performing during the show was Polish music artist, Natalia Lesz.  Volvo Auto Polska and Euroservice provided the transportation.

The evening also had a charitable purpose.  There was a charity auction held of which the proceeds went to the Diambars organization which builds and develops football schools in Africa.  Some of the exclusive auction items included priceless football memorabilia, a luxurious evening gown of Lebanese designer, Georges Hobeika, who has dressed Eva Longoria and provided some of the splendid looks in the show and also some marvelous FORMULA 1 items.

In a delicious finish to a fantastic evening, guests cut the birthday cake and savored the sweetness.  The cake was made by restaurateur, Marta Grycan.

The honorary patrons of the evening were Mayor of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Poland, Alexander Alekseev.

Both football and fashion had an equally superlative evening with stately representation and everyone that celebrated had a wonderful time!
