It is a time of the year when imagination, fantasy and creativity come together into a mixture of beauty and belief in the spirit of the holidays.
From New York City to London to Paris, window dressing captures the hearts of many an adult and child.

Bergdorf Goodman mystifies audiences with “The Carnival of the Animals”. A white ice princess is surrounded by beading, fringe, tassels, snow and winter white animals. Crocheted horns on a ram and a seal balancing a teacup tantalize crowds. The “Brass Menagerie” glistens in the evening light.

Men will melt as they view the window scene of their favorite activities including the sport of football.

“Snowflake & Bubble Spectacular” overtake Saks Fifth Avenue in a fantasy world of motion with fashion at the forefront complete with ruffles and gala galore.

“Gaga Goes Wild” with Barney’s Lady Gaga Workshop taking over the entire first floor of the department store. Emblematic items will entertain. Purchase some of these unique gifts to support the artist’s brand new cause, anti-bullying ‘Born This Way’ Foundation. Step into the all wig hair boudoir in a lounge of luxury, a one of a kind experience.

London competes with a whimsical window theme at Harrod’s. “A Crystal Christmas” captivates with sparkles on winter complete with ice branches and chandelier-like crystal swags and champagne and candles topped with an angel of the evening. Fashion is intertwined with a cascading snowflake evening gown.

Selfridges of London took window winter to the extreme. An oversized angel with luminescent wings amidst bells of silver puts you in the mood magnificently. L.E.D. angels light up daring dreams of futuristic promises.

“Frozen Christmas” is frigid yet fine in the window of Harvey Nichols. Fashion rears its fancy head as a whale’s tail submerges and polar bears signify cold. Knives are suspended in frozen snow drifts.

Liberty of London goes to your heart through your stomach. A frazzled maiden is sitting in a mass of chocolates and sweets. Swans and gilded bird cages and hot perfumed air balloons ignite the fairytale.

Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld dream large in the Paris window on Printemps. Hollywood is here with pilots, flight attendants and pretty palms on a midwinter’s night dream. Romance takes flight. A multitude of tiny Karl Lagerfeld dolls sing from the rooftops, the towers and even the Eiffel Tower.

Galeries Lafayette screams mod and mauvelous with tiny rock stars touched up by the painter’s palette. And then the video begins and it is music mayhem.

A picture, a scene is worth a million words. Holidays bring out the joy and the happiness of a magical world come to life through the creative minds of the masters of the store window.
Happy Holidays!
