Miami Beach International Bridal Week

This past weekend, November 26th and 27th, we took a glimpse into the fascinating world of tradition as the Miami Beach International Bridal Week took place at the plush Eden Roc Renaissance in trendsetting and tropical Miami Beach.

Exhibitors had the special couple covered from flowers, finances, catering, couture gowns, jewelry, music, decorations, destinations, photography as well as cuisine sampling and specialized seminars to assist before, during and after the big day. Miami Beach is quickly becoming the wedding destination hotspot for tying the knot.

Miami Beach International Bridal Week is a Sobol-Perry Fashion Production. Having lived in over 30 countries around the world and been involved in the fashion industry in a myriad of ways for the majority of her life, Beth Sobol combines key ingredients to give this event an international flair. Miami Beach is the fashion gateway to Latin and South America, drawing crowds here to enjoy the scenery and the styles in a friendly and affordable atmosphere. Superior organization skills and a strong sense of focus create the winning combination to a great event such as this one.

Elaine Lancaster, Miami’s ‘Queen of the Night’ and Vincent De Paul, with a role in ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Nip Tuck’ were the celebrity hosts and media partners and wedding experts, Brides Magazine and The Wedding Channel and The Knot all had a large presence throughout the weekend. Marc Silverstone of Equilibrium Events created breathtaking fantasy pavilions capturing the trends of many nationalities from Jewish to South Asian.

To make this event distinctly stand out from the others, two designer fashion shows and two Bloomingdale’s bridal lingerie shows with an extra added pizzazz were held over the two day time frame.

International Couture designers showing gorgeous collections were: Patuna Bushyhead (Republic of Georgia), Fadila Kihel (Algeria), Rania Hatoum (Egypt/US), Umar Sayeed (Pakistan)

What began as the traditionally simple gowns turned into frills, tulle, lace, organza, sequins and intricate beading. The amount of detail that went into each and every outfit portrayed a fairytale wedding where each bride could be a princess and her groom will be the chosen prince.

Colors were as brilliant as bright turquoise blue, black and silver, passionate purple and pink, orange, vibrant red and just as enticing were the pastels of peach and ivory.

The Bloomingdale’s lingerie shows also went from traditional to playful, sultry to sexy. Negligees were made of lace, satin and velvet and accessorized with beads, feathers and heels. The wedding night is a time to become intimate and each couple is ready to share their unique preferences as the evening draws to a close and their life together is only just beginning.

As the two day event drew to a close, many couples who will unite as one received advice, planning and tips from the masters all of which they are going to need in order to make the momentous day a lasting memory forever and ever.

Tradition is all in the eyes of the beholder……
