KORS BRINGS COLOR TO FALL 2013 COLLECTION
By: Â Hope Wilkos, Writer/Blogger Photographer: Â George Whylie Videographer: Â Maxine Nolan ÂThere is one designer that always dares to be different and perhaps that is why he continues to maintain such a cult following.
Michael Kors lit up the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City at Lincoln Center on February 13, 2013. Â With his Fall 2013 Collection, there were hardly any signs of a wintry season upon us. Â Colors were brilliant and bold in neon hues of the rainbow like outlandish orange, taxicab yellow and raging royal blue.
The styles were a combination of urban athleticism meets uptown elegance and tailored refinement.
Outerwear had some interesting shapes and designs in fabrics such as quilted leather, marvelous mink and fantastic flannel. Â The trench coat still maintains its popularity whether it be spring, fall or winter.
Zippers and clean lines were in abundance and side slits were an important aspect of the straight skirt. Â The camo theme played a more glamorous role in pants, jackets and skirts.
The modern classic glistened with a black and blue rubberized paillette dogstooth raglan shell and matching trouser. Â The career woman will be a real head-turner at the office in a black and white donegal jacquard zippersuit or the tweed pencil skirt. Â This had to be fashion at its finest.
Kors has a way of giving the man a sleek and polished look that works so well on the runway. Â He favors the pullover paired with the poplin shirt, just the right look for the arrival of the fall season.
By day it was futuristic goggles, structured bags, long graceful gloves, streamlined pumps and thick chunky belts accessorizing perfectly. Â By night, the beauty of the outfit needed nothing but the silhouette of the body itself to give it that Kors class.
Kors’ take on the looks for evening had to be the most eventful part of the show. Â Brazen black was beautiful in the racer gown and the leather bustier-like top with cutaway parachute long skirt. Â The ending was a kaleidoscope of color as the peplum gown was the star of the show.
This masterful designer enjoys leaving his audience with that lasting impression and he didn’t disappoint in this Fall 2013 Collection. Â The lovely and sensational statuesque Karlie Kloss closed the show in a black and crystal peplum gown that was a real show-stealer.
Michael Kors continues to bring us versatility in fashion which is why his collections are such successful sellers. Â It is a lifestyle that is truly unsurpassed.
