LA IS FILLED WITH FASHION

There was loads of energy and enthusiasm to go around as all the latest Fall/Winter 2013 trends were unveiled on the runway by a wide variety of designers in their own artistic manner.
This marks the 5th season of designer showcases and special surprises. Style Fashion Week LA is one of the most influential events in the Los Angeles area and draws fashionistas from afar.
Style Fashion Week LA was held at the landmark Cathedral Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. A world of class and sophistication is revealed in harmonious ways. It all took place from March 11 – March 15, 2013. In addition to runway shows, guests were treated to live musical entertainment and lifestyle exhibits.
There were many highlights attracting attention to this city of celebrity and bright lights.
Mexican designer, Gregorio Sanchez debuted his new GREGORIO SANCHEZ Collection. Fall colors enhanced the season in pleasing patterns complimented by sleek outerwear.
Ina Soltani accentuates glamour with leather bringing together fashion and culture into one breathtaking collection.
Hollywood Doll is the new breakout line by Pussycat Doll singer, Kaya Jones,in collaboration with Heatherette co-founder, Traver Rains. It was an imaginary presentation in a spirited collection for young girls growing into unique individuals with a playful soul. In addition to taking a bow, Kaya gave her fans a song off of her newest album.
Mumbai-based Ash Haute Couture brought luxury and refinement to the runway. Hand embroidery was beauty at its finest. Western style and Eastern influences gave us the winning combination.
A Los Angeles based brand was part of the closing collections as designer Trey Alligood III debuted Madisonpark Collective. Timeless silhouettes and interesting fabrics of selvage denim, 100% organic cotton, canvas, cashmere and lambskin leather brought out the quality of the exceptional pieces. The colors are captivating and the styles were innovative.
These are just a few of the many designers exciting the fervently fashionable crowd. After-parties were all part of the action and accessories were also showcased as an exceptional accompaniment. CAILYN Cosmetics with their all natural products were displaying what has made them trendsetters in the cosmetic industry. LA’s Bloom Showroom presented stunning jewelry collections of Casalinda Studio, Jolica Horizontal Something Charming and Lila Clare Jewelry. Sara Horne gave us her inimitable jewelry collection loved and worn by many celebrities.
Style Fashion Week LA and Fashion Hope joined together to benefit the American Heart Association with their ‘Go Red for Women Celebrity Red Dress Fashion Show’. This great event brings awareness to the ‘Go Red Movement’ and builds support for the American Heart Association as they work to fight heart disease. One of the top stylists in the industry, Anya Sarre, hosted the extravaganza as 15 celebrities walked the runway in powerful red show-stopping gowns.
As if it couldn’t get any more glamorous than this, LA Fashion Weekend took over Sunset Gower Studios in the heart of Hollywood from March 14 through March 16, 2013. What makes this weekend a world apart from the rest is its originality and local flavor for entertainment, fashion and lifestyle. This is the event that puts designers at the forefront for their artistic creativity. It is the ultimate avenue to advance their brand.
A featured designer who is having a great year was Urbana Chappa. Urbana is a Texas native with an unmatched talent for expression through design. She debuted her latest collection from Maison de Urbana in February at New York Fashion Week. Now she was creating a stir at LA Fashion Weekend. Her collections give every woman the power to believe in their inner and outer beauty with a rousing confidence. The details are in the fabrics with brilliant colors and patterns and lavish sequined silhouettes.
Another international designer giving LA Fashion Weekend a collection of hand-made splendor was Ermelinda Manos. She began as a stylist for some of the top names in the industry and branched out into the design field where she has found her true talent. Manos’ pieces fit with a feminine flair and a sense of freedom to believe in yourself.
The event came to an end with the LA Fashion Weekend Awards and special performances took place by singing sensations Kimberly Caldwell and Sabrina Antoinette.
The week began and ended on a high fashion note with the most unforgettable of fashions. In April the LA Fashion Weekend Wrap Party takes place followed by Fashion Splash on June 21, 2013. LA is filled with fashion year round.
