Makeup Made for a Cause

As New York Fashion Week (#NYFW) gets ready to launch, casting New York City under its spell from September 6th through September 12th, 2018, the models are preparing to represent top designers on the runway. It only takes a few accessories to transform an everyday girl into an overnight sensation and opt for the title of the next major Supermodel. Makeup is truly worth its weight in gold as many of us can attest to.

One of the hottest makeup artists to ever hit the fashion scene and make her permanent mark on the fashion world is Pat McGrath. In an interview  with Vogue.com UK during London Fashion Week (September 2008), McGrath explained her creative process, saying: “I’m influenced a lot by the fabrics that I see, the colors that are in the collections, and the girls’ faces. It’s always a challenge but that’s the key – to make it different every time.” This season, McGrath is unveiling 10 gorgeous matte lipsticks in shades that will knock the audience out of their seats. The names say it all; Magnetic Magenta, Fever Dream and Executive Realness to name a few. Pair the shades with breathtaking eye shadows touched with hints of bronzes and shimmer and models will have no problem selling the designer wares.

However, we can’t all be up on the stage on display under the hot steamy lights. For those looking to make a trendsetting impression with their own street style during New York Fashion Week, Chantecaille can take you to that Cinderella/Belle of the Ball state of mind. Perhaps not as widely known in the United States as some of the other makeup brands, this company is more unique in its approach to philanthropy and its mission to save the world. The cosmetics are free of Phthalates, Sulphates, Detergents, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, Palm Oil, Synthetic Colors and Fragrances and GMO and cruelty-free, above all.

Chantecaille’s luxurious lipsticks and rich cheek products are items used to bring about change in the world today. Through makeup meant to make every woman beautiful, the brand also shines a spotlight on global environmental issues and they support conservation efforts across all parts of the earth. Chantecaille has been a strong advocate for Space For Giants, an organization protecting the wildlife landscapes where Africa’s remaining elephants run free. The organization works diligently to demonstrate the ecological and economic value that the elephants bring to society. Protection and conservation are the two overwhelming words to take note of as part of their mission.

In a unique effort to lend support to various organizations and worthwhile causes, each blush created and sold by Chantecaille has its own individualized story. The golden coral blush supports the Xerces Society, protecting the bee. The light pinkish blush with soft rosy undertones goes to support the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, helping the monarch butterfly to survive. The soft peach blush supports the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which fosters orphaned baby elephants. The deep apricot blush supports Widecast, saving endangered sea turtles. The warm peachy pink blush supports the Marine Conservation Biology Institute, striving to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020. The playful pink blush supports the American Wild Horse Campaign.

Additionally, Chantecaille is partnering with The Rainforest Alliance to support their commitment to protect our planet’s dwindling forests and the precious wildlife that depends on them. Learn more at http://www.rainforest-alliance.org/issues/forests.

Would you ever have thought that applying a brushstroke of blush or just a fingertip of lip veil would have a dual purpose of revolutionizing your look and saving the earth in small but massively measurable ways? We will see you at New York Fashion Week (#NYFW) wearing your new Chantecaille makeup.
