Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has come to a close. Each season gets even bigger and better than the last season. Over 50 established brands and emerging designers gave buyers, press and celebrities such as Ellen Von Unwerth, Elisabeth Jagger, Helena Christensen, Hilary Swank, Marc Jacobs and Mira Sorvino, a preview of their newest collection.
This was the ninth season revealing the unveiling of Spring/Summer 2012. It was all about bright colors and the ability to go from casual to classy in the blink of an eye.

There were fabulous designers such as Basler who presented new cuts and sparkling fabrics. One shouldered floral silk dresses were paired with gold wedges and the evening took on glamour with a variety of strapless gowns embellished with lace, feathers, diamonds and sequins.

Diesel who will show their swim collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in South Beach in a few days also had a presence in Berlin with a playful and sexy variety of clothing with short jean dresses for day and the little sequined black dress for night.

Don’t Shoot the Messengers brought on an array of black and leather in confident and edgy designs.

Escada Sport was influenced by Marrakech, proudly displaying Moroccan geometric patterns with henna details.

G-Star Raw always puts on an exciting runway show and Berlin provided the setting for a 3D denim theme with loads of energy and a variety of denim blues.

There were group presentations as well as individual designer presentations.
The event culminated with the award of the “Designer for Tomorrow by Peek and Cloppenburg Duesseldorf” for the fourth time. The award went to Alexandra Kiesel. Wild designs took style to a whole new plateau for both men and women.

The IMG Event was sponsored and made possible by Mercedes-Benz, DHL, Hannspree, Maybelline Jade, Peek & Cloppenburg and ShopStyle.
The event has strategically put Berlin on the map as Europe’s new fashion metropolis. All that attended enjoyed the four-day event, no doubt.
