The traditional and not so traditional all came together in one place from October 15th through the 17th, 2011 for a most glamorous New York International Bridal Week. The eye-catching parade of exhibitors displayed their collections at Pier 94 in New York City.
The setting was enchantingly realistic with an atmosphere set with shimmering chandeliers, wall-to-wall white carpeting and the biggest and brightest names in the bridal industry.

Designers unveiled their magnetic collections in The Fashion Theater to attendees that were made up of buyers and press/media outlets. Mart Fashion Productions made the week memorable with all their behind-the-scenes special touches. The Couture Studio showcased designer collections with an array of marquee lines that drive the bridal industry.
Although there was much compressed into three days, there was nothing that could compare to all the dazzling beauty of the displays within the venue. Hand-picked designers arriving to The Fashion Theater brought mesmerizing gowns to the stage.

The silk and satin embellishment of Claire Pettibone Couture Bridal turns each and every bride into an elegant angel. The dramatic full hoop skirt of Eve of Milady gowns with detailed intricacy catapults us into an era of honorable queens and duchesses. Anne Barge uses sheer tulle and chantilly lace to put her brides on top of the world. My all-time favorite is Badgley Mischka, masters of their trade. The splendor of their dresses convey a magic beyond words. Ruffles, beading, diamonds and sequins put the bride on a pedestal to be admired by her groom. Winnie Couture pairs sophistication with femininity with ruched bodices, box pleating, strapless sweetheart necklines and scalloped hems.

Some of the other big names are well-respected throughout the fashion world. Alfred Sung, Nicole Miller and Lela Rose revealed their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. The talk of the week was Vera Wang and her unique black wedding gowns. Gothic is game in voluminous organza dresses along with heavily embroidered brocade dresses.

Diamonds and bows are truly the finishing touches to the glass slipper of Aruna Seth Shoes, London. In addition to shoes, hair accessories and sparkling jewelry were part of the showing.

Not only were brides the focus of the event but bridesmaids dresses were showcased as well. Over one hundred exhibitors, buyers, retailers, sponsors and media all made this one of the most successful events of the year.

Say “I DO” in sophisticated style.
