PALM BEACH POLO ATTRACTS CELEBRITIES

The USPA Maserati 109th U.S. Open Polo Championship is getting ready to get underway at the International Polo Club in Wellington. This is one of the most renowned venues in the equestrian world and this season is marked as the 10th Anniversary Season that has provided the setting for action-packed excitement and competition. The USPA Maserati 109th U.S. Open Polo Championship is a four-week, 26-goal tournament which showcases the world’s most elite, high-goal players along with the finest polo ponies. It begins on March 31st and will continue on April 7th, 14th and 21st, 2013.
Each Sunday will feature a star-studded lineup of celebrities adding just the perfect touch of glamour and allure as they take part in the ceremonial roles of singing the National Anthem, performing the coin toss, the traditional divot stomp and the awards ceremony.
If you are a lover of fast cars and sleek machines, there will be a full range of the most exciting Maserati luxury cars on display each Sunday.
On March 31, 2013, Liz Callaway and Ann Hampton Callaway will be singing a duet of the National Anthem to open the event. Liz is an Emmy Award winner for her Broadway roles in ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ and ‘Cats’. Her talented voice has contributed to the lead voice roles in animated films such as ‘Lion King II’. Ann is a notable singer, composer, lyricist, pianist and actress. She wrote and sang the theme to the television series, “The Nanny”, has written songs for Barbara Streisand and won a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway play ‘Swing’.
On April 7, 2013, Palm Beach County’s very own American Idol contestant from Season 7, Brooke Eden, will be singing the National Anthem prior to the matches. Her singing prowess combines country, rock and blue-eyed soul for a sweet sound. She will give us her memorable rendition. In addition to Brooke, the lovely actress from ’10’, Bo Derek, will be attending the matches for the second time this season. Bo is a riding enthusiast herself and enjoys polo season at the International Polo Club.
On April 14, 2013, famed actress, Lauren Holly, will be performing the ceremonial coin toss. Lauren has gained acclaim for her roles in ‘Dumb & Dumber’, ‘Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story’ and will be starring in the upcoming 2013 film called ‘Abducted’. She has also had roles on the television series NCIS and Chicago Hope.
You can look forward to a big treat on April 21, 2013 as the USPA Maserati 109th U.S. Open Polo Championship comes to an end and Antonio Sabato Jr. and his wife, Cheryl Moana Marie, take part in the afternoon festivities. Antonio is a well-known actor and has starred in General Hospital and Melrose Place. He is known as the most famous face of the Calvin Klein billboards.
In addition, Antonio is an avid race car driver. He will meet his match as he attends the polo competition.
Cheryl is an accomplished musician and television actress. She will be singing the National Anthem.
Lee Greenwood is one of America’s #1 Country artists with seven #1 hits including “Somebody’s Gonna Love You”, “Dixie Road” and “Mornin’ Ride”. His popularity rose with his patriotic song, “God Bless the USA” and attendees on April 21st will be able to hear Lee perform his hit prior to the matches.
