Party Time at Full Moon Festival 2018

On Saturday, June 30, 2018, the full moon lit up the New York skyline. With that ray of brilliance rose the most magnificent party of the century, the eighth annual 2018 Full Moon Music Festival. This festival is a production of Matte Projects.

This year was fresh and unencumbered as fans flocked to the new location, The Knockdown Center, just east of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. It is a huge aesthetic open venue with both indoor and outdoor space and a gorgeous view of the full moon in the night sky. The party began at 2:00 p.m. on June 30th and the revelry continued all the way into the early morning hours of July 1st . Guests lost their inhibitions and joined in the merriment together. It was a celebration of New York’s restless spirits through music, art and food.

Full Moon is one of New York’s largest remaining independent music festivals at the forefront of the boutique festival trend. Taking part in the event are restaurants, artists and musicians and many cultural institutions. This year, the talent packed the Center with attitude, art and sweet melodies. Whatever guests craved to snack on, the delicacies were in abundance at their fingertips from pizza to healthy smoothies to sandwiches to ice cream.

What gave even greater meaning to the Full Moon Festival was this year’s partnership with the ocean conservation Surfrider Foundation, the New York chapter. This foundation is comprised of passionate individuals dedicating themselves to protecting and saving our oceans, waves and beaches. They raise awareness with their invigorating campaigns, spreading the message loud and clear and gaining more advocates and volunteers the further they reach. The future of our oceans rests in our hands. Full Moon Festival was also committed to zero waste and teamed up with ‘wecycle’ to compost all on-site waste.

Fantastic sounds circulated throughout the airspace all day and night long and camaraderie infused the streets. This is the type of festival that attendees cannot get out of their soul and they keep coming back to year after year.
